“Lovely, comfortable house.”
Reviewed 4 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have just returned from a short break in Alnwick. The cottage was in a great position very near to the castle and gardens (across the road). Alnwick town was a short walk away as was Barter books. The cottage itself was ideal for a small family- although with bunk beds, a truckle bed and a travel cot I did note that a family of six could be accommodated although it would be a squeeze. The yard is small which suited us but may be a negative with young children. There was no parking outside the house but we had no trouble with parking in the car park nearby, it is possible to load and unload outside the door. All in all we were perfectly happy and received a great service from Juliet Cottage- we felt very welcome.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that you felt comfortable in Juliet Cottage and that you thought that the location was great. We are so lucky to have the handy car park for our guests to use just around the corner. Enjoy the rest of 2014 and come back and stay sometime soon. Thanks again. Louise.

Just got back from Juliet Cottage, what a great place to stay, just around the corner and you are in the Market Town Centre. Plenty of Cafes to choose from. The pubs on a night for Tea and Indian and Chinese restaurants and take aways. Alnwick Castle is 200 yards away.
The cottage itself is real cosy, everything is available so just bring yourself.....

Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Alnwick and Juliet Cottage. We have a couple of jobs lined up for the 6th and 7th of June this year and they include a new lick of paint in the shower room. I hadn't thought of a new toilet seat but while we are revamping, we will replace that too.
Thanks again, and please come back and stay at Juliet Cottage again in the future.
All the best,
Louise, Juliet Cottage. Alnwick Cottages.

“Perfect, cosy cottage in the heart of Alnwick”

We had a great 3 night stay at the Cottage at the end of half term. We arrived late evening to find the cottage lovely & warm, with welcoming gifts - wine for us & chocolate in the bunk room for the boys, as well as milk in the fridge.

Everything has been thought of - and all the little things you need are there - coffee & tea, tissues, washing-up liquid etc.

The kitchen is really well equipped with a dishwasher & washing machine, and the bed is SO comfy. The boys loved the sturdy bunk-beds too.

The cottage is literally a few minutes walk from the town centre, with good restaurants & cafes, take-aways, a cheese shop & some high street stores, and close to the Castle & Alnwick gardens.

We will definitely visit again!

“Home From Home”
Reviewed 2 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

Firstly Louise (no relation) is a delight to deal with, offering lots of information and quick replies to questions posed.

The cottage is in a excellent location and has all the home comforts you would need such as a full range of kitchen equipment, liquid soap by all sinks and basins and boxes of tissues being examples of the attention to detail.

On arrival we were met with a welcome banner for my birthday which I was celebrating the week I was there, and also chocolates, wine, milk in the fridge etc. The parking permit saved us pounds as it could be used everywhere we went.

We went to Louis Steakhouse - beautiful steak and good service in a nice atmosphere.

We visited Alnwick Castle, Edingburgh Castle (went by train from Alnmouth and booked via Trainline the month before so it only cost £22 return for both of us), Bamburgh and Cragside and they were all good value for money. We went to see "the Sound of Music" at Alnwick Playhouse and thoroughly enjoyed a performance by amateurs who deserve to be supported.

We did walks on the coast from Boulmer to Embleton via Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle, and we also walked from Seahouses to Bamburgh and had a cream tea in the Copper Kettle. A nice 45-60 min stroll is to go through the town to Lion Bridge and turn right along the river from where you get wonderful views of Alnwick Castle (see 3rd photo). Continue until you reach the next bridge and the turn right to make your way back to town. Another easy local walk is to do the woodland walk in the grounds of Alnwick Gardens just past the Treehouse Restaurant. You don't have to pay for this.

All in all we had a wonderful time in a lovely unspoilt town in a beautiful part of the country, which has low traffic volumes and miles of unspoilt beach. The locals were very friendly and the there is a good variety of shops.

Highly reccomended.
