“Lovely cittage, great location”
Reviewed 2 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The cottage was lovely, warm and welcoming and larger than we had expected. The open fire was a good feature for chilly autumn evenings. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The village is excellent, with a superb bakery/tea rooms and a recently renovated pub which serves good food. It's very handy for the A1 and also places such as Amble, Alnwick and Morpeth. We really enjoyed our stay and would return.

“First class accommodation”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

One of the best cottages we've stayed in. Welcome box from local 1st class bakery 'The Running Fox' and good pub food at local 'Northumberland arms' Well furnished, very clean and great location for sights of Northumberland. By the road which somewhat surprised us, but not busy.

“Our home from home”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This was our third stay at Riverside Cottage and it feels like your own home rather than a holiday cottage.

Its location is ideal, I love enjoying my morning coffee down by the river under the magical bridges. It is well located for walkers and situated in the ideal spot for touring beautiful Northumberland with its history, castles and beaches.

Over the bridge is the Running Fox that supplies the delicious welcome goodie pack full of their breads, pies and cake of the day. We left the week before the Northumberland Arms re-opened so looking forward to visiting there during our next stay at the cottage.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean, the kitchen is properly equipped and the shower is strong and the water is piping hot.

I definitely recommend everyone to book a relaxing stay at Riverside Cottage.

Darren's directions to the property are brilliant - including actual photographs of the junctions so that you know exactly what to look for.

“A little gem”
Reviewed 9 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Lovely cottage, well equipped and in a lovely position for the A1 making it easy to get out and about. Lots of lovely places to visit some with free parking, a rarity nowadays, beautiful beaches, good eating places, and a pleasure to drive around on the many somewhat empty roads, and if like us you did not want to drive every day there was an excellent bus service right on your doorstep. The cottage benefited from the Running Fox bakery across the road but we were thankful we only had a week otherwise we would have been a stone heavier than when we arrived, an amazing shop. All in all a lovely cottage in a lovely village surrounded by lovely countryside.
