“Magical stay in magical House.”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed last week in this marvellous property. Stunning house in a stunning location. Added bonus being the Badgers in the garden. Comfortably slept 6 with lovely rooms.

Lots of space to eat and relax whatever the weather. With lots of games for the children and books for the adults.

The kitchen is the best I have ever seen in a rental.

Loved it!!!

“Loved every minute!”
Reviewed 12 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed in May with family at Bay Bank and enjoyed it so much that we returned less than a month later. The house is light, spacious, well planned and has wonderful views whatever the weather. We hope to stay again soon.

“Beautiful and relaxing stay in Bay Bank House”

We travelled over to Robin Hood's Bay for my fathers 60th birthday, some from Lancashire and some from York, the journey was promising, glorious sunshine all the way and arriving at the top of Robin Hood's Bay was no disappointment in the sun.
After working out how to get into the house, we were blown away first by the views and next by the house itself. Bay Bank House is a stunning house, feeling far more like a family home than a holiday let. The gardens are fantastic with a large flat lawn, great for a run around with the kids, a lovely stone seating area with a table and chiminea, and the gorgeous sloped garden that gives incredible views out over the bay. The attention to detail inside the house is fantastic, the Ercol chairs (gorgeous!) and the worn but incredibly comfy sofas in the lounge made us feel at home straight away. And the bottle of wine waiting for us when we were arrived was very welcome!
The rooms were a treasure trove, each room having collections of knick-knacks and lovely furniture. The beds were incredibly comfortable and being able to hear the sea in the distance was pure bliss.
On the Saturday of our stay, the weather drew in and it was a bit drizzly and grey all day, but it really didn't matter. Robin Hood's Bay looks incredible whatever the weather and with the cliffs in the distance covered in mist, it was quite an atmospheric view. And really, what is a trip to the British sea-side without the rain! We had a refreshing walk on the beach with the little one, jumping in the rock pools and picking up pebbles, a really lovely way to spend the afternoon. In need of a dry off, we popped into the The Laurel Inn for a drink. A sweet little pub with a huge open fire. A theme that continued into the evening, as we lit a fire back at the house and cozied in to play boardgames for the evening. There was a huge stack of boardgames in the living room and quite a large selection of DVDs and books on the shelves, so you wouldn't be stuck for anything to do if you didn't fancy heading out in the drizzle!
The small village shop just opposite The Laurel Inn has almost everything you could need during your stay, including fresh fruit and a great selection of local bottled beers. The large Sainsbury's is only 10 minutes drive away for a bigger food shop.
We had an absolutely perfect stay at Bay Bank House and we really can't wait to come back, hopefully for a full week next time. We barely scratched the surface of what to do in Robin Hood's Bay and the Bay Bank House is an amazing place to explore from!
We did have one question though, if you own Bay Bank House, why would you live anywhere else?!

“Even more wonderful than expected!”

This house totally exceeded my expectations. The pictures and description were nice, but the actual house is incredible. Beautifully appointed with everything you could want for a vacation. There were 6 of us, old friends who hadn't seen each other for a long time.the house was so spacious and easy to be in. We had a fantastic Sunday dinner, complete with roast beef and Yorkshire pud, veg and crumble for dessert, all cooked in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and the sea views from all the bedroom windows were breathtaking.lovely gardens and... BADGERS! They came and peeked on the windows every evening. I would have paid extra for the badgers. (Don't go near them though as they are very fierce animals.)
I hope to rent this house again. Robin Hood's Bay is, in my estimation, the prettiest village on the Yorkshire Coat.
