South Wing has once again given us a fabulous four night return to 'school'!
The weather was grey and overcast but that didnt stop us from having a wonderful weekend revisiting our school days in the spacious, warm and cosy accommodation.
There is everything needed to cook and serve a splendid dinner in the lovely dining room. We walked to Hunmanby Gap, Primrose valley and Filey returning across the fields. Hunmanby hasnt changed a lot over the years and always feels like returning home. Many thanks to Andrew and his family for sharing their delightful home and would gladly recommend to families and friends. Oodles of space to spread out and well provisioned.
We always look forward to are stay at south wing this is are 3rd yr . And it just gets better we have booked straight away for next yr as we dont want to miss out .We turn into ladys of the manor for the wk end the rooms are fantastic and the kitchen has every thing you need. There is 15 of us and we hit the village on the sat night we always dress in fancy dress and this yr it was school girls the locals loved it and of course we are a tad mad . Every one needs to visit south wing its the best place we have ever stayed and hopefully will for yrs to come so heres to many more wk ends at south wing and all the fun we have its a beautiful place
12 of us have just come back from an amazing stay at south lodge, the weekend was 28 degrees so spent most of the time in the garden, which was huge and hosted an inflatable assault course and sumo suits with still room for games! We also had a chef come and make us a meal who was very impressed with the kitchen, Andrew was great with all of these requests! The house had everything you could think of, and all the bedrooms were perfect with big comfy beds, especially the main bedroom with fantastic views and an amazing big bathroom and dressing room! Hunmanby is nice with everything you need, we had a nice Chinese and used the handy co op from 2 mins down the road. Don't hesitate booking its fantastic for a big group, we will definitely be back!
The house was booked for a family weekend away. We all packed our cases and headed to the beautiful South Wing. The photos that we had seen made the house look great and we soon found they in fact do not do the house justice it is absolutely stunning! Communication with the owner is prompt and very informative. The garden was host to rounders matches games of football and a bbq. Both children and adults had a completely unforgettable weekend away. My nephew didn't want to leave his 'holiday house' because he, 'loved it, loved it, loved it'.
What a fantastic holiday destination South Wing is.
We were 12 adults looking forward to our first group holiday together and we couldn't have been more delighted with our choice of South Wing to stay in. We had an absolutely brilliant time.
There is so much space and the rooms are enormous. The lounges and dining room are perfect for being able to socialise and eat as one big group. We had great fun exploring all the rooms and then showing the latecomers round.
The house is very well equipped and unbelievably warm. We'd all packed expecting an old building to be cold and draughty - which it definitely wasn't.
The outside of South Wing is just as good as the inside. The lawn is big enough for a game of rounders and the woodland walk round the outskirts of the golf course allows you to look back on the house and admire the scale of the full building. We also walked into Hunmanby village which is literally 2 minutes walk away and has a couple of pubs, fish and chips, deli, Post office, etc etc
Filey itself is well worth a visit as it is only a few miles away and has a huge, sandy beach. You may even be as brave as some of our group and take a (very) quick dip in the refreshing North Sea!
We loved this property so much that we're all now trying to synchronise our diaries to see when we can book a return visit in 2018...
