We arrived at the site at 4pm, absolutely tipping it down.
It was strange when I found out the check in was in the play gym? Possibly the second smallest room in the site, the reception being the first... why do this when your expecting hundreds of families? The queue snakes around inside with no organisation from staff, I was patient because I assume it wasn’t the girls fault on the desk, probably some manager who hadn’t got to deal with the trouble... (coward) when I finally got to the front of the queue (an hour later) there was people kicking off left, right and centre... (I’m sure the weather didn’t help their moods) I happened to get called forward by a smart looking gentleman, but looks can be deceiving, he clearly didn’t know what he was doing... he took my reference number and then spent another half hour trying to get me a key, I could see him standing there looking gormless behind the screen, when he did come back he just put a cross on my pitch number and didn’t explain the info pack/books at all, unlike all the girls serving others.
Got to the caravan and the site had been ripped up by cars driving on the drenched grass (not the sites fault) what was an issue was how there are no paths to your caravan from the car park?? I could see my caravan from the...We arrived at the site at 4pm, absolutely tipping it down.

Got to the caravan and the site had been ripped up by cars driving on the drenched grass (not the sites fault) what was an issue was how there are no paths to your caravan from the car park?? I could see my caravan from the car park (probably 100 yards) but with no path and the mud/floods really bad I had to walk at least 300/400m with all the bags (many times). Put in some cut through paths...All the foot paths that were there were flooded.
I requested a newer model caravan which we received, it was pretty much brand new! Couldn’t complain with regards to that. Very nice place to stay.
The Brigghouse was lovely, strangely quiet all week but the staff were great and prices average. Carvery was lovely, please tell the head chef the beef was perfectly pink and the gammon lovely and fatty! Just how I like it!
People complaining about the takeaway outlets, that’s standard papa johns and Burger King prices, you still pay it though... the local takeaway delivery menus that are given out were brilliant, coming from down south we couldn’t believe how cheap it is up there!
The swimming pool was awful... too small, too shallow and too bloody cold! The showers and changing rooms appeared to be new?! They were okay but the floor was filthy and the showers were too low, I’m average height and I was ducking to get under them, 2 weren’t working either, just freezing cold. Also, there is no hooks at the showers for your...More
