Have been here a few times now, and returned last night to celebrate my birthday.
We were greeted immediately by Eugenie and shown to our table.
Unfortunately we then had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come to the table to ask if we wanted a drink or to deliver a menu.
Two girls were stood near to kitchen door for the 15 minutes with two plates of starters waiting for the table behind us to be seated, (3 people and nowhere in sight) these plates eventually went to the empty table and then minutes later returned back to the kitchen. The party behind eventually arrived and their starters served.
We were then offered the menu.
The food was up to the usual standard, so no complaints there.
Girls were pleasant but just need to be a bit more aware of their customers

Recently moved to the area and tried this because we used to frequent The Tontine back in the day. Wasn’t disappointed. Staff are young, energetic, friendly and efficient. The food is lovely…have been back three times now within a few weeks it’s so good. Something for everybody. Pricing is spot on and the restaurant is relaxed, informal and it’s the perfect setting for Sunday lunch. Can’t fault it.

Another trip to our favourite restaurant in North Yorkshire
A warm welcome as ever from our host Eugene and a finepint of Timothy Taylors best bitter from Tim the barman made a great welcome
There is an excellent menu at a reasonable price and an extensive wine list to serve every purse
The restaurant boasts a wonderful atmosphere and we received extra special service from Jules
It is just the spot to celebrate a special occasion and you will always be made most welcome
I will always recommend this place

Brought here by friends who rave about it and said it would be very much to our liking…indeed it is.

The place has character and lots of it, this is the type of place I’d love to have as my local.

I love the food, Duck was good but the standout was the seafood pancake, which was sublime.

Staff were excellent, haven’t got a bad word to say about it… well apart from one minor thing.

Ordered a bottle of ‘98 Musar and was given a 2000. Was told the ‘98 was no good but in fact it’s a superior vintage.
Didn’t make a fuss as a) it was my birthday and B) it was still a very good wine.

Overall though, great place and hope to visit again when in the area.
