Called in for two lots of Fish and chips with separate portion of scraps as one of our family wasn't sure if they wanted scraps or not.
It seemed a simple request.
Except as they were served I noticed they had put scraps on both portions - Instead of assuming we wanted scraps on both portions, why didn't you explain or ask before
they were served that you don't give scraps as a separate portion ( could see why not though?)
Either way, not a major issue at the time. But the food itself was awful, chips looked and definitely tasted as though they had been re fried, the fish was absolutely soaked in thick undercooked inedible batter as well as bad tasting, leaving us feeling as though we wish we had not bothered.
On the whole a waste of money, time and effort.
They clearly didn't appreciate the business and were not bothered about the quality of the food served or indeed the level of service employed to serve it in the first place.

Attended last Wednesday for takeaway no cod - we don't do it this time of year - but had to take haddock. Funny smell in car as we drove off and it didn't taste too good either. Next used the car Friday but had to spray it with air freshener before able to get in. The fish was old and not good at all. Learnt a lesson don't go here in winter and maybe just give it a miss always now

Just to make it clear this visit was as a Take Away meal.
A very cold bitter Easterly wind, what better day for a brisk walk along the Cleethorpes shoreline, a blessing in a clear blue sky and what better sustenance after working up an appetite than a traditional offering of Fish & Chips.
Often people re-visit the same shop based on a previous satisfying visit, however we were en route to one we have used before, but found ourselves at the Northern end of Cleethorpes and noticed the sign Fish & Chips and it had ample parking out-side.
Quite a variable menu available from your usual various fish species including Plaice to Sausages, fishcakes etc, etc, plus differing accompaniments.
Enough said we all had fish and it was just right, juicy with a very crisp batter, love my fish with skin on, NOW remarkably the chips here were very good and I believe this is all down to the potato variety and of course the fryer.
The shop is well thought out in that the fryer works at one side of a central through range which services the people serving at the other side of it, it all makes for better efficiency without staff tripping over each other, so the fryer and two serving handled with ease the continuing demand for the fayre on offer.
For people wanting to eat from the wrapper there are several fixed bench and table seats outside.
So yes it's well worth a visit and if you prefer the extra large size of fish don't forget to shout up and order when you get in.
Please note my visit is based on Take Away, I believe there is a restaurant available

I use this chippy a lot and have never been let down. Fish always fried to order when you get through the door, fish always good, tasty, moist and fresh. Got to be a 5 star take away.

Thank trev g

Visited this fish and chip shop while on holiday with the family at Thorpe park just down the road.

We decided to eat in the restaurant round the back and found it clean and welcoming inside.

The food was great. Good size portions and price was reasonable too.

Thank Kevin S
