“Best funstars ever! Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2011

Just returned from a weeks stay. I did go to Thorpe park kn 2008 and loved it but this year exceeded my expectations. My prestige caravan was lovely and clean on arrival. Check in was two minutes...so quick for peak season. Remember I am rating this as z caravan holiday and in terms of previous experiences this place is fab. Yes activites can be costly but they are not compulsory and there is loads of free stuff such as kids clubs entertainment parks and swimming. The shows this year included magic and a brill circus and panto. The funstar staff this year Leighton, Simon, tiff, Fiona, Kim, Jonathan and Jamie lea were the best! They remembered my little girl jessicas name and my husband and brother both commented that they did zn excellent job they oozed enthusiasm. Jess adored them and they had real talent and ability and do such a good job! The site itself is well maintained and I saw cleaning staff regularly! If you like cheesy good family fun go here! My only worry is next year will the staff be as good as this was my best experience of funstars! I was so sad to leave as we had such a good time!

We have just stayed in the tourers park with our trailer tent. All the amenities were clean and well kept. There was a constant warden presence and all pitches were good quality.

The pool although busy was clean, the lazy river and slides were excellent and keep the kids happy. The beach very close by was very clean and the walk to Cleethorpes is well worth it.

Overall the only fault is the carpet in the show bar could do with a clean but we will be visiting again.

We had an enjoyable family holiday at Thorpe Park thanks to a fantastic beach. We stayed between 27 June to 4 July 2011

We stayed in a Prestige 2 bedroom caravan which was located in the Waterside area of the park which is one of the better locations in this park.

Unfortunately when we first accessd the caravan there were issues (1) with a bad smell the toilet (2) the mould in the shower room (3) the carpets were not hoovered (4) the sofa and arm chair in the sitting room were grubby - these need to be replaced.

Once reported, the housekeeping staff hoovered the carpets and cleaned the toliet and the shower room - the smell was coming from the shower drain pipe and the shower had to be ran for 45 minutes, after pouring domestos down the pipe, before the smell disappeared.

The bedrooms were clean and confortable plus the kitchen facilities were good - overall we were satisfied.

The water facilities are really good although the sports facilities are poor compared to other Haven parks we have visited.

The activiies for kids are expensive but the kids had a great time.

The drinks and food on site are expensive although there are several family friendly pubs close to the park which are cheaper for dining out.

There is a Tesco Extra which is a 5 minutes drive away for buying the groceries etc.

The entertainment was pretty poor but this was "because we were staying outwith the peak summer holiday season which starts in August" - this is not an acceptable excuse from Haven - they should provide a good standard of entertainment throughout the entire summer holiday season June to September.

The caravan park is next to a fantastic beach on which the family had a great time -one day we even walked along the beach to Cleethopres which is about 1.5 miles away.

Overall, my holiday wasn't the best - but that was for the simple reason our 3 kids bickered constantly!

We went 11/7/11 for 4 nights through the sun promotion. However I upgraded a few times to have an extra bedroom and a wider caravan for us all. All in it cost about £200. And our caravan and holiday was worth that. We had a nice caravan, yes there were some stains on the carpet - but that's what happens with kids. Stain means it doesn't clean! There were some dishes left on the drained but they were washed so I just put them away and wasn't concerned.

There were lots of activities to do on the park. Yes, they cost extra but do your homework people. Get a haven brochure, check out the website. I was well informed which things cost and how much - and budgeted accordingly. The kids were given their own spending money so they would appreciate how far it goes and so we didn't have a week of "I want".

The evening entertainment was good, kids enjoyed it. Only thing was the disco was very late - too late for our kids (7,5 and 5) and they are a bit big for the tots disco early on. However the science show, magic etc kept them well entertained.

The pool was very good. Clean, with lots of lifeguards. This was free! The lazy river outside could do to be heated though :-) brrrrr!

All in all, your holiday is what you make it. There are enough free things to do that it doesn't have to cost the earth.

Claire x
