The building is spacious, stylish, calm, light, rural, comfortable, modern, traditional, well-equipped, cosy and spotlessly clean.

The owners were extremely helpful at all times, and very friendly.

The location is leafy, green and nicely off the beaten track. Even so, Waitrose is five minutes' drive away.

There are lovely walks from the front door. I think you could walk to the Chapel Down vineyard across the fields in less than two miles (though we couldn't because we had a pushchair to consider!)

There is a wonderful wood burner for winter (which wasn't listed when we booked); wood, kindling and fire lighters were provided. Nespresso coffee pods were provided. Wifi was free (fast enough for spotify but not iPlayer). Ordnance Survay maps were provided. Plenty of local tourist info was provided.

The kitchen is excellent - a proper gas hob and a washing machine and a dishwasher and a microwave and a freezer and a fridge and loads of corckery etc.

Shower room is excellent (no bath though).

Beds were wonderful (pillows were feather). Big sofas to stretch out on. iPod dock and freeview TV were provided.

There isn't really a downside - thanks for looking after us so well!

“Charming cottage with modern features”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were really surprised when we arrived at the cottage. The local town had an old charm, the property was pleasant and the cottage looked as it was just renovated. It was spacious, clean, decorated with taste and had all the modern aplliances. Clare and her family welcomed us and brought us chairs to sit outside in the sun. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and we wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend it.

“Such a lovely cottage, very well equipped in idyllic surroundings”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We had a lovely stay in this cottage and would recommend it to you.
The accommodation was well maintained, very well equipped and very comfortable. It was accessible for granny(!) - no stairs, walk in shower, spacious. The furnishings were all new and very tasteful and the owners were on hand if you needed anything.
It was lovely to sit in the extensive garden and enjoy the peace and quiet.
We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to another in the near future.
