They had a vast choice of burgers! I had the New York Burger, which was nice. Service was a little slow, but it didn’t affect our experience. If you plan your trip in advance, you can make sure you get the best deals as they offer different deals on different days! The apple crumble was really yummy too. The pub is located in the right location next to train station and not far from the beach making it very convenient.

Head chef did a great job keeping my food gluten free safe. Impressed, as I’m a food safety trainer!

Normally when we come we like to be able to enjoy the self service breakfast and was sad to see that it wasn't like that on our last visit. When we ordered we had to wait some time for it and half of what we orders wasn't on our plates.slightly disappointed. We will come back and try it again but we won't rush back.
It was nice though

All my family choose the Promenade for celebrations. We enjoy the menus - especially the delicious deserts - and the staff always look after us, with special attention to the kids.
Located next to the rail station and the main beach, with Dreamland next door, the Promenade makes a perfect base for a day out. With the hotel attached, our family guests always stay here, too.
Very fair prices and highly recommended.

We recently wrote a review about our first visit here. Having been quite happy we returned with a visiting friend as we thought it would be a nice place to take her. Oh dear. On entry, we waited by the sign "wait here to be seated" and were completely ignored by the three staff behind the bar as they chatted. After a good ten minutes, I went up to one of the women who said "Sit where you like as long as table not reserved" We found a table and sat down. On our previous visit a waiter had come to our table so we expected that, however after 30 minutes or more, seeing a man chatting at another table I politely asked him how long we had to wait. "You need to order at the bar" he said "as we are busy." OK , ordered our food and drinks at the bar. The waitress came out and said they had no garlic bread and listed the items out of stock so we re-ordered some. One starter was wrong and no salad with one of the main courses. To the bar again as no staff about and eventually the salad was brought out, The place was almost empty and staff seemed completely bored and disinterested. After the desserts I approached a chap who looked like the manager as serving the wrong dishes and changing one meant we had overpaid. He told us to mention it at the bar as we left. In fairness, although he made no apology and disappeared out the back, the lady there did refund for one dish and explained that they had missed a delivery which had made them short of food. Alright we don't expect Walpole Bay Hotel standards there but it made us feel upset that we had taken our friend to this place. Sorry we wont be back there again.
