Stopped here for lunch after a decent walk from Whitstable. It has a cheerfully decorated restaurant at the back, with a simple lay-out, and we ordered two haddock and chips with mushy peas, pickled onions and tea. The food was clearly freshly cooked, and the fish was well-cooked (perhaps a little over-cooked) with lovely batter; chips were fine, nothing special, but certainly not in the slightest bit greasy; mushy peas were delicious, possibly the best I've ever had! The pickled onions looked like they'd been pumping iron whilst on steroids - I prefer mine a little smaller and easier to handle. Apart from the pickled onions, my only other gripe was the tartare sauce, which came in little sachets and was not pleasant at all - would be better not to offer it, rather than serve these disappointing sachets.
Staff were friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable indeed. Overall, definitely one to try if you're in the area.
