The pub / hotel combo works well with the beer and food downstairs excellent and the rooms upstairs also very good. We stayed in Room 2 above the pub which was a good size with a comfy bed and a fantastic shower. The service was also faultless and nothing seemed like too much trouble. An excellent base for the Shepheard Neame brewery tour which is five minutes walk away. The only thing which stopped me giving this hotel five stars was the noisy extract fan in the bathroom which did keep us awake after using the toilet during the night until it shut off again after around 15 minutes.

No idea why this superb pub/restaurant/hotel ranks 3 of 4 hotels in faversham. Sublime food (best ever tasted in pub) massive rooms with beams, comfy beds, and the nicest staff you could hope to meet. Avoid Judds Folly and stay here, you won't be disappointed

All I can do really with this review is echo all of the positives previously written about The Sun Inn. If you are looking for somewhere that offers good pub accommodation in a grat traditional pub setting then you really do not need to look any further. The Sun Inn is a pub full of character with comfortable rooms, helpful friendly staff and a great breakfast. Perhaps one thing that, in my humble opinion, would improve things a little is the overall cleanliness of our bathroom, it is just begining to get a little 'tired' in certain areas (i.e. dirty tiles around the bath, missing screw covers to taps and shower control). Not a major problem for me but I could imagine some reviewers really marking a good pub down because of it. Regardless, on the whole I would have no hesitation in recommending The Sun as a good place to stay for pretty much any occassion.

Room Tip: Pot luck with regard to rooms really. Personally I would favour the rooms above the actual pub itself, from memory I think they are larger. I found the room (No.7) on my most recent stay a little on the small side, not a real problem in itself, however the close proximity of two other rooms in this part of the building may be an issue if you have 'noisy neighbours'.

We recently stayed and the rom was clean and tidy. We stayed in room 7 which is situated in the old grain store. The bathroom has a macerator which not only makes a loud noise when you use the toilet but also the shower and sink. We also noticed that it made a noise when the bathroom in rooms 8 and 9 were used. Large car park behind pub where you pay even for Sunday. Centrally located.

Room Tip: Do not choose rooms 7,8,9 if you are a light sleeper

Good PUb with rooms, parking at rear in public car park. The rooms are just what you would expect for a pub with rooms, clean and tidy. Ours was in the attic which if you had walking difficulties might have been difficult. Helpful staff, great beer, and an excellent breakfast.
Unfortunately we didn't get to eat an evening meal in the restaurant which looked great. The Sun is centrally located handy if you are on trip to the Shepherd Neame Brewery. It is within staggering distance.
All in all a good pub with rooms, nothing fancy.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front, it may be quieter, but we didn't notice excessive noise from the street or the pub garden at the rear.
