We spent a very pleasant night at the Royal in Deal, lovely old seafront Hotel in this very friendly town. It was so refreshing to have the delightful receptionists talking so enthusiatically about Deal and it's environs. We travelled from Sandwich, where we had lunch, and came down the toll road through Sandown Estate, a good view of the bay and met some friendly fishermen on the beach. There is also a bird hide where you can view wild fowl on a little lake. The hotel is comfortable and welcoming and we had a good reasonably priced meal in the bar in the evening. A good walk along the seafront and out to the end of the pier completed our trip.Deal is lovely.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view

Truly wonderful place to stay - great location and hotel. The staff cant do enough to make your stay really good. The rooms are very tasteful and exceptionally clean.

This is the second time we have stayed and have booked again for early next year.

Breakfast was great as was the white bread fish finger sandwich.

Thank you all for making our stay so special xx

We booked the Hamilton room for my wife's 50th birthday and what a great place to celebrate. We ordered champagne for when we arrived which was reasonably priced, the room was very well presented even though we would be one of the last to stay before it is refurbished next week, we will definitely be back to see the new room soon, great food in the restaurant in the evening, then breakfast in out room overlooking the sea . Even had a morning cuppa on the balcony before going home. All in all a great stay.

My wife booked this lovely hotel for my birthday. It sits bang smack on the beach with its beautiful long stretch of sand and accompanying views out to sea and the fishermen on the pier.
We stayed in one of three gorgeously appointed rooms - ours was 'Nelson' - with its fireplace, high ceiling, large, comfortable bed and large balcony upon which we enjoyed a bottle of champagne and nibbles listening to the waves lap the shore feet from our vantage point and see the light constantly changing as the sun set.
We then went down for an early supper which was efficiently waitressed and delicious; mine was the Crab and Chiili spaghetti. The wine list is short and keenly priced; we lapped up the Italian 'Triade', yum.
Returning to our room for coffee we watched an England football qualifier on the TV
( yes, this was a plan! ) and wallowed in the 'in-room' ( yes, in room, not bathroom ) bath at half time.......
Lovely stay. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Definitely stay in Churchill, Nelson or Hamilton.

Stayed overnight in The Royal on what was a busy Sunday for them. We had a seaview room which was exceptionally spacious - about the size of three rooms I have sometimes stayed in put together in the past. The bathroom was equally spacious and immaculately presented, not to mention extremely hot. Breakfast was good, with plenty of both cold and cooked choices on the menu. All in all a good stay and at £125 for bed and breakfast not badly priced.
