This is a traditional english fish and chip shop with a difference. The traditonal chippy is not that good, but this is something else.
Fresh fish, hand cut chips, gourmet sausages. Even the mushy peas had flavour - which for those of us who eat them, is not an automatic thing.
Voted one of the top five in the country - and for a reason. This spotlessly clean chippy is for foodies as well as people who are simply hungry.
Only two tables to eat in, and two to eat out, this is really a take out venue - take your chips to the seafront and eat them there. Portions are relatively small for traditional fish and chips, but the quality is off the graph.
If you are not from the UK and want to sample archetypal British food (and happen to be around Deal) this is the place to try fish and chips. These are not 'french fries' but chips as I knew them in my childhood. No glamour - wrapped in paper - but the way fish and chips were meant to be -but with a variety of fish extending to some I have never even heard of.....something for everyone.
Take them and eat them on the beach, or the sea front, or eat them where you are. Not a romantic dinner or a high dining experience but something to treasure just the same.
