Explain to the staff that politeness is free and trying to aid customers is the best way to keep them. Making everything awkward from buying your ticket online as your stood at the desk because the blue island card is not used in the office. To the members of staff showing you to the flight being rude and unhelpful. Find other ways to get from A to B. Awful experience .

Hi Ashley Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that your experience was not up to our usual standard. The switch to online for most of our tickets has been, and continues to be, a major part of our strategy to make our journey as low-touch as possible and to reduce queues in the terminals.

As a business being polite is fundamental to us and we have won awards for our customer service, so your comments have been forwarded to our Operations team so they can investigate further.

Finally we do appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback as this helps us make improvements and we hope that you will give us a chance to demonstrate we can, and do, give better service.

We were staying in Southsea so very handy for terminal. Hovercraft staff are very friendly and efficient.

There are two words for hovertravel from the isle of wight to the mainland expensive and rude.

I live on the island and like to travel over to portsmouth to spend time in the shops and town. On Monday 17th May 2021 my husband and I wanted to spend his last day of his holiday from work shopping in portsmouth. We arrived at the terminal to buy our tickets. We handed over our blue cards only to be told that we can no longer use the blue card unless we book on line. Then when we went to pay for the tickets found that there price of a day return had gone up by a whopping £10. My husband joked that we wanted to buy a ticket not by the hovercraft. At this a member of staff piped up and said sarcastically "we could buy a hover for 5 million if we wanted". For starters I wouldn't buy a craft that is always breaking down. I know how often the hover breaks down because for two years we lived just across the road from the hover and it was always having something done because it wasn't working properly.

Another thing I would like to say to hover travel even after all the discussions in the past you still like to keep the isle of wight residents captive on the island keeping us all to rantsom with your unfriendly behaviour and stupid prices towards the people who live on the island.

Anyone reading this a word of advice. Yes hover is quicker but it is expensive. Have a look at the cat prices they are much cheaper and the staff a more friendly. Takes a little bit longer to get across but it does what is says on the tin it gets you to the mainland. And the ride is more comfortable too.

Thank you Sarah for your review. We are sorry you feel this way and we appreciate that people always have a choice of who they travel with. We have offered an ongoing 20% discount for Island residents through our Blue card for a decade, demonstrating that we care a great deal about offering the Island community good value fares.
Moving to online booking was a necessity during the pandemic and we make no apologies for introducing and continuing with a process which reduces contact during the journey.
As for reliability you might be interested to know that in April we operated 98.39% of our advertised timetable.

When we booked on the phone the lady was so friendly and helpful , she gave us all the departure times and even helped with a discount ticket for one of our party who is disabled , 10 out of 10 for service so nice to see in these miserable Covid times.

Have used this service for many years however trying to arrange a visit to the mainland has been a nightmare! Being a blue card holder visited the terminal to purchase a ticket for next day travel. Was told I could only use this if I booked on line. (It used to be the reverse) Have just spent a very frustrating time without success in failing to book. The website would not accept my blue card or accept the times I wished to travel. What happens to passengers who do not have access to the internet. ? Guess with the summer season approaching and with plenty of visitors discounted tickets for Islanders are probably not high priority.

Hi Apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. We appreciate every booking, from whichever side of the Solent and the rationale behind the Blue Card is to give something back to the local community.
Our website is successfully processing plenty of blue card booking so maybe you could call our customer contact centre which is open Mon-Fri during office hours.
