We came to this beautiful hotel for an afternoon tea to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we have truly enjoyed. The food was really good, in particular the scones and service impeccable.
The place is just beautiful and cannot wait to come back.

I went for the Christmas package and was delighted to find that, despite Covid, the quality was as good as I remembered from previous visits. The room was very comfortable with tea making facilities and a spotless bathroom. The chefs excelled themselves with local fish, pork and venison. There were some very interesting items on the wine list including a selection from New Zealand. Staff were friendly and the band on the last night played a very good selection. I invited some relatives to join me for lunch on one day and the hotel laid on a great meal. Very enjoyable and relaxing trip, well worth it.

We had our wedding at the Montagu Arms last year and returned for our first anniversary. We already knew how great the hotel is - a warm welcome, wonderful setting, clean and comfortable rooms - but this was our first time dining in the restaurant. It won't be the last. What a meal! Food, wine and service of the very highest order. Thank you to Norbert and everyone at the Montagu for helping us to celebrate another special occasion so perfectly.

Excellent service. Just stopped in for a coffee, nothing more. But the staff in both the restaurant (lovely young lady on front desk!) and charming gentleman behind the bar were so polite and friendly. The barman boasted how he made perfect cappuccinos and he was not wrong. We saw some bar food being served and it looked fabulous, so will come back and try a meal in the near future.
Great for a pre or post walk down to Bucklers Hard and back.

Another lovely stay here for 4 nights leading to new year. Well done to the team, new and old. After a challenging year it seems that the hotel staff have settled in well. Great service by everyone in the restaurant and Paul as usual very attentive. Lovely to meet all the new staff. The food is fantastic.

We could not have had a better stay, the staff were so lovely and accommodating. We had beautiful rooms which had just been newly refurbished. Wonderful decor, comfortable beds and very luxurious bathroom. The menu in the restaurant was inspired and delicious and only wish we had another night there.
