Best restaurant in the New Forest, without a doubt.

Part of the same group as the Pig but in my view more adult. A beautiful house, fab bar and a gorgeous restaurant.

Have been three times recently and each time a joy, the menu changes, food outstanding and a big round of applause for the staff. Charm personified.

Only gripe is the wine list, very toppy and it takes the Micky a bit. Whispering Angel rosé £45 at the ivy in London, over £60 here. You notice it on branded wine, nice as it is.

But still the best place in the Forest - love it.

Engagement lunch. Very well looked after and the food was phenomenal in a beautiful venue. Would definitely recommend for couple or friends. Easy to find and parking was good.

Booked lunchtime Saturday, arrived early to try the bar, which had a great selection beers, wines and spirits. Decided on the seasonal set menu, good choice and we both had a lovely meal. Attentive staff, couldn't manage sweets so retired back to the bar for coffee and complementary shotbreads. Left in our own good time, never felt rushed, great way to spend Saturday afternoon and will return for the Autumn menu.

This was a birthday lunch - the restaurant had a very nice relaxed atmosphere. The wines suggested by the sommelier were excellent and complemented the food well. The starter was excellent, our main was beef which was poor very fatty and cooked medium to well done instead of medium rare as requested. Our waitress was really sloppy her waistcoat was dirty and she was a bit too laid back for our liking. She did not make any attempt to clean the table in between courses which was not appreciated. Overall not the best experience and certainly not value for money, we won't be rushing back.

Limewood is one of our favourite places to eat and can normally not be faulted. Last year we enjoyed one of the best full teas ever and so decided to return to relive the experience. Sadly, it was not what we had come to expect. The sandwiches were quite plain and fell well short of those we had enjoyed previously. The scones were good and the portions of cream and jam generous. However, the cakes were very disappointing and we sorely missed the delicious eclairs with various fillings we were looking forward to. We were given slices of cake to take home which was a nice touch but I'm sorry to say that Limewood will not be our first choice for tea in the future.
