Having visited before a couple of years ago and had great service, we decided to visit again. Sadly the service was very slow , staff seemed distracted and not really on the ball. Has the ownership changed?

From start to finish my friends and I felt extremely comfortable and welcome in this establishment. The staff were kind and happy to answer any queries; the food was delectable; overall completely fulfilled our expectations.
If you are looking for a classic British Roast in a sweet village, this is your spot.

Having had a few bad experiences over the past few weeks, we were nervous about trying somewhere that we had not visited before. However, all was good! Excellent food - I had the falafel with Ras al Hanout cous cous salad, and my partner chose the smoke salmon ciabatta. Good portions, excellent flavours. The staff were polite and attentive, but not overbearing. Was not aware before we visited, but the White Hart is part of the Marjoram Leisure group, which includes our other favourites Angel & Harp and Axe & Compasses. Will visit again.

We live in Little Waltham and feel very fortunate to have such a lovely local on our doorstep. During the pandemic the owner Dave has done everything possible to keep it going, erecting lots of comfortable outside seating and extending the car park. We ate inside with friends this week, I did not recognise any of the staff but they were friendly, efficient and well trained. We did not realise it was two for one fish Wednesday, so the bill was extremely reasonable, and the food delicious. The White Hart has had its problems , like all pubs, over the last year, but on this visit they are resolved and we can’t recommend it enough.
