I wanted to explore the East Sussex without driving miles each day and being in battle made us central to many attractions. There was easy parking and a short walk to shops , banks, pubs and transport. I went to Eastbourne on the train one day. Inside the decor is modern and well thought out. Two double bedrooms . The owners were more than helpful. the value is so good that we decided to rent for two weeks rather than 1.
Lovely cottage full of character and great modern amenities. It was lovely to walk into Battle and explore the area from such a comfortable base. Tina (the owner) made us feel very welcome and included a lot of wonderful arrival gifts. One of the best self catering places we have stayed in.
Tina, the owner, has thought of everything a traveler would want/need in a self-catering cottage. A welcoming assortment of goodies including homemade cake, milk, flowers, Buck's Fizz, tea and coffee. Cottage has all modern appliances, including the rarest of all British appliances, a full size refrigerator/freezer. Televisions in both bedrooms and living room.
The cottage is an easy walk to down town Battle, which has a superstore, plenty of restaurants, and tea shops. Battle is an ideal size town that caters to tourists, but is not overwhelmed with tacky shops peddling souvenirs, crowds and park and display parking lots.
In summary, Providence Cottage is perfection.
This was an excellent find. A very traditional cottage that has been renovated to a very high standard yet still retains its charm. Only a few minutes walk from the town you would struggle to find a better place to stay in Battle. Tina, the owner, is a lovely lady who is happy to help with any questions you may have. Battle is probably the nicest town in the area, with easy access to many interesting places. Highly recommended.
