“What a fabulous start to 2015 !!”
Reviewed 5 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We hired Burchley House for 4 nights over the New Year period for a group of friends including a few teenagers, couples and a baby. Having done several similar breaks with the group we were very happy with the location, facilities and overall ambience of Burchley House. Its very well laid out with two separate lounges either side of the house which was great for everyone to get their own "space" when needed. The three levels of sleeping arrangements also fitted our group perfectly. There were stair gates, travel cot and high chairs for the baby, and board games, jigsaws and books for the other kids. The bedrooms were all of a good size and it was a real plus that they all had their own en-suite facilities. The decor is very tasteful and modern and the beds extremely comfy. There was plenty of crockery , cutlery , pots ,pans and gadgets to fulfill all our needs. We cooked indoors every night and enjoyed the social buzz of the kitchen /dining area. In fact if you can imagine 14 people dancing around the island singing " Is this the way to Amarillo " at midnight on New Years Eve it will give you a feel for the place ! A great time was had by all and we would certainly visit again and recommend Burchley House highly !

“THE PERFECT PROPERTY FOR A LARGE FAMILY/FRIENDS TO SHARE...IN THE HEART OF SOUTHWOLD”
Reviewed 18 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We enjoyed a fabulous week at Burchley House celebrating our friend's 80th birthday. It was so clean, well equipped, comfortable and right in the centre of Southwold. A short walk to the beautiful beaches and the pier, shops and bus routes. Being December the town was beginning to feel like Christmas. Plenty of interesting shops, tea rooms and some really friendly pubs and of course Adnams shop, brewery and distillery...well worth a visit. We shall definitely go back and can thoroughly recommend Burchley House to family and friends .. The accommodation is suburb..!

“Amazing house highly recommended”
Reviewed 10 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Everything was perfect in this large and spacious house. We were a large family group staying in southwold for a wedding and there was plenty of room for us all to get ready for an 11am wedding without getting in each others way and also ample space for us all to spend time together for the rest of the weekend. Would highly recommend this place, we all want to stay here again, maybe every year!

“Luxurious and spacious family seaside house.”
Reviewed 1 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Wonderful holiday property for extended family group. Very impressed by modern décor throughout. We were fortunate to have warm weather in October so appreciated the large garden with lots of seating. I have never stayed in such a well equipped property. The hot water dispenser was a boon as was the large array of utensils. The town of Southwold was only a minute's walk, brilliant for quaint craft shops, galleries and delicious bakeries, cafes and Adnams ale. And the sea was close by too! All queries and questions were responded to promptly by the owner who couldn't have been more helpful. The bottle of wine, milk and gateaux in fridge on arrival were particularly welcoming as were the fresh flowers. Thank you.

“What a fabulous find!”
Reviewed 10 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed as a family group over 3 generations with an age range of 7 to 70. Every one of us enjoyed it and are all keen to come back. Although there were 12 of us the house seemed to expand to cope with us all, including 4 lively children. It never once felt crowded and there was space for each of us to do our own thing.
The facilities are excellent - 6 en-suites made such a difference - no waiting to use the bathroom!
The finish and furnishings are so tasteful and comfortable. There's every piece of equipment you could want - right down to tea lights to add some atmosphere to the meal table which catered more than adequately for us all.
The booking process was easy and the 'welcome pack' of wine, tea, coffee, milk, flowers and a delicious cake were such wonderful touches.
We will definitely book again - in fact a friend who visited on the Sunday already has, she was so impressed. I hope this is helpful to anyone considering Burchley House
