Had a really enjoyable one night stay for our wedding anniversary. The room was huge and beautifully decorated with a lovely balcony and very spacious en suite. One of the best hotel rooms we have stayed in and we didn't want to leave. Breakfast excellent and food generally very good. Also relatively easy to get a room at short notice. definitely worth a five.

Room Tip: Front rooms with balcony

Felixstowe is a peaceful little town by the sea and The Fludyers a little oasis within it. Bright modern well appointed rooms with enormous comfy beds. My fav rooms is the full sea front room with balcony. This time we were on a room on the side. Missing the bslcony but still a fab sea view and on the plus side away from any bar noise. Not stayed in a bad room to be honest. Breakfast is big and made of quality ingredients. Very tasty. We have stayed here 4 times now so clearly happy to return and would reccommend. If I had to give an idea for improvement - it is nice to be remembered when you are a repeat guest.

Where to start. My wife and I visited this Hotel for 6 days last week. Room 11 on the top floor was brilliant. This hotel / restaurant / bistro bar was very good BUT,
as a HOTEL the accommodation was brilliant. Room 11 was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed with good wardrobe space. Tv and tea making as normal. The bathroom was brilliant with a large shower and instant hot water. The only snag was it was on the second floor. Brilliant sea views with a Juliet balcony but there s NO LIFT
As a RESTARAUNT the food was good and plentiful and very popular with non-residents. Bar snacks were also very good.
As a PUB /BISTRO BAR also very good with a vast selection of beers wines and spirits and very popular being on the beach. Got very crowded and noisy.
Down sides. Non really that you are not warned of.
Very limited car park, but there is still free parking on the road.
Those stairs ! ! !
Mostly very young in-experienced staff with not a lot of personality (college holidays !)
Permanent staff were brilliant.
Owners do not know if it is a hotel, restaurant or a bar because he has a success with all three. No quiet place for residents to go except their bedroom which was fine for us after we have climbed the stairs.
We had a lovely comfortable stay at Fludyers and we would go again.

Room Tip: Room 11, second floor, Juliet balcony for sun bathing A/C but there is NO LIFT

You won't be disappointed with the hotel, the rooms or the location. It really is a unique place, very close to my heart being brought up here and loving nothing better than being able to sit and chill on the beach. The fludyers has been restored to an exceptional level, its ideal for us to stay in the mews rooms as with 2 boys it gives the perfect mix of a day on the beach but you can also go for a drink when you want, bar snack or lunch and then unwind in the evening whilst the boys watch tv in their own space. Unfortunately the management team changed. It's a shame to see the bad reviews coming along on what can be a perfect venue. I really hope this doesn't continue. The staff are a young mix, with no help or authority from my experience. I hosted my 50th here, all went ok until some badly managed issues with room prices as quoted and a big mix up at breakfast that could have so easily been avoided if the initial quote on booking was right and the welcome on checking in was better managed. Pull your socks up or you will soon start to ruin what should be a fabulous experience. My advise is if you have a big party hire yourself an organiser as this team can't cater for large parties.

We stayed for two nights as a mini break and were fortunate enough to have fantastic weather and also a sea view balcony room to enjoy it from.

The staff were very appropriate and welcoming from the moment we arrived.

The room itself was airy and very spacious and was really set off by the magnificent balcony that is the width of the road from the sea front! To be able to leave the balcony door open and fall asleep and wake up listening to the sea and getting that fresh air is incredible.

Breakfast was filling and very tasty ( I had the full english both mornings ) and was unhurried, with the team at the hotel focussed on you having a good relaxing time rather than clock watching the whole process as you find in some other hotels.

We dined in for one of our two evenings and the food again was of a high standard, and suitable matched by the level of service.

The town itself offers some gems by way of eateries and pubs, with a long walk to the historic Landguard Fort along the coast next to the vibrant Port of Felxstowe, and a couple of hours was lost in thought gazing out into the waters of the port whilst eating chips in the sun.
