Well what can I say... we all had an amazing time dispite the very wet and windy weather....
Our only faults are:
*shop open tines were wrong, staff say open till 8, instead it was 6

*End shower block not open (not a major issue though it be convenient to have it open)

*couldn't get a seat in sundowners past 7.30pm, really needs the layout in the side areas sorting... even if it was benched like the back of the lounge bar would be better... as more chance of a seat

*entertainment this year seemed less talent and kids entertainmentioned was on far to late.... amazing magician and olly wasn't too bad, lounge bar had some good singers and more chance of a seat too,

*bingo only once on our visit, one two times a week. That used to be a highlight. Maybe put it on in the day or evening in the lounge bar too. And a big bingo once or twice a week in sundowners

*entertainment also generally ran 30mins late... which when you purposelt turn up early to attempt to find seating. Then go to bar. Then to watch it you end up back to the bar to wait for a act.

Good
*as for camping outdoor gym, park, general cleanness was perfect

*ablushions were clean warm and plenty of them, never dirty

*dishwashing area perfectly tidy

*watching films in lounge bar is great on a rainy day

*go kart rental all fair prices

*fountain sports bar has lovely smelling roasts on (easter sunday) we only poped in for a drink but they looked amazing

*all pools, splash area, table tennis, pool& captain Willis play area & arcades are clean and a great adit ion for a rather wet holiday

*train was weather permitting so nor avaliable however that was no issue.

*fish a chips were lovely

Annoyed with
*the Chinese was a dissapointment as it wasn't open..... I was told it was a 6week holiday thing.... however we have been at easter 2 times before and it was open... so presumed it still would be

It be great if that was made know as many people presumed Chinese on site would be available and it wasn't

End result
All in all we have not been put off its our 4th visit (two in their accommodation and two in camping)
Our kids are 9/8/6 and all love it. We will come back as we are local. However I do hope for more bingo. And more superstars "shows" or talent brought in..... when the superstars do a show (sin/dance a routin/show) seems like your getting more evening entertainment. ... far to much just music playing, or kids entertainment (I have kids but even they were passed joining in for that length of time) past 8-8:30 keep it more grown up. Or captivate people's time... with something to watch

On a stupid note *sell pork scratchings *

Dear Katherine S,

Thank you for your review.

We are pleased to hear all the good experiences you had during your stay with us.

We are sorry the Chinese was not open this Easter, this, unfortunately, was caused by circumstances beyond our control.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Entertainment and we have passed these to our entertainments manager.

We hope to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards,
Searles Leisure Resort PR Team

My husband, special needs 28 year old daughter and myself have just returned from the Easter Weekend at Searles.

This was a late booking, and the best accommodation we could get was a bronze lodge of which we were allocated lodge 208.The lodge was fine ....not the best we have been in, but exceptionally clean, lovely and warm, a well equipped kitchen, and comfortable leather seating. The bedrooms were a bit worse for wear, but after all,we were only there for the weekend. A problem with the boiler and hot water was sorted out immediately by the very friendly maintenance staff.......great service.

My biggest gripe is the fact that we couldn’t get in the lodge until 3pm, and then after we had unpacked,we then had to make up the beds, with the VERY ill fitting sheets that were supplied. We have hired lots of lodges in our time, but NEVER have we had to do this. For heavens sake Searles if we’ve got to make up our own beds please let us in earlier so this gives us time to do this.

The weather this Easter was unfortunately dreadful and it rained most of the time we were there, but this didn’t stop us from having a good time. The evening entertainment in the lounge (we didn’t go in Sundowners as it was packed very early) was more to our taste ,being 3 adults.......and we really enjoyed the music every night, Steve Moyse on Friday,Dream Street on Saturday, and Splash Duo on Sunday ,of which Kelsey especially enjoyed the audience participation .

The children were all having a great time in the new interactive splash pool and the swimming pool, which we unfortunately didn’t get a chance to use as it was very busy.

All in all a lovely weekend, despite the weather, and we wouldn’t hesitate in returning......hopefully when the sun is shining.

Easter has been very harsh weather but this campsite was fully operational and the pitches in excellent condition. The toilet blocks were lovely and warm. Spotless and modern.

I had three young girls with me between 8 and10 years old who had a wonderful time in the swimming pool. The splash area whilst I enjoyed a good hot sauna and lovely jacuzzi.

The Superstars are brilliant. Working their socks off to entertain the kids. Very approachable and always a big s,Ike on their faces. Actually most members of the Searles them were lovely.

We had supper in the restaurant one night. Food was great and service top notch.

The only fault I have is with the ver very stingy small hot dogs, other than that 10/10

Booked late for Easter so had to have a grass pitch which wasn't ideal in the rain ! But it was worth the inconvenience of muddy feet as this is such a well run site. Lovely hot showers, very clean. Lots of sports activities available, bars , restaurants , very well stocked shop, The evening entertainment was first class. Will definately go back.

We have just returned from our 5 day holiday at searles,so much to do.we ran out of time to do things..stayed in a platinum cabin with hot tub...on arrival the hot tub and veranda area needed cleaning, which we did ourselves...but inside the cabin was spotless....In the bedroom you could feel the springs of the mattress...so was pleasantly surprised that i slept well each night...overall we had a fantastic holiday...the kids enjoyed captain willys and the kids bingo..we ate at smokey joes and the food and service was excellent...look forward to coming back again...and making searles our yearly family holiday destination.....
