When reading the other reviews we were wondering if we have been in the same place... On the good side: attentive staff; interesting location; very large room, with confortable bed. Some rooms are indeed beautiful (we could have a visit).
On the other side: no drinkable water provided in the room; bug in the bathroom, bird dejections everywhere, bees/wesps nest near the windows, dubious electrical cables; mosquito's nest with holes (to let enter the tubings for airco), just to name a few.
This place could be very nice with just a bit of renovation and cleaning.

This fort hotel is actually located in Roopangarh which is bit distant from kishangarh (30-35 km). We were family if two adults and one toddler coming from chittorgarh and needed a one night halt somewhere in between before Delhi and opted for this hotel (instead of going into Jaipur city).
The hotel has many rooms but since we were the only guests for that day, we got one of the larger rooms and we loved it. It was not only spacious but had a lovely corridor adjacent and our toddler loved running around in all that space.
The hotel staff is courteous and helpful. However, if you are expecting Neemrana staff level of sophistication and hospitality, you will be disappointed. There aren't much activities to do in the hotel (we spotted a tennis court but not sure if there were any rackets) but if you love open spaces and relaxed time, this hotel will suffice. Also, the hotel is located in a village and the last 100 meters are through a dirty village road, which might get confusing. The locals cannot tell you the directions to the 'hotel' as they refer to this as 'qila' so ask for a qila if you are lost in the village.
The hotel is not totally disabled friendly.

I rated this hotel excellent for the experience in this 17th century grandeur. Although not restored in comparison to the other heritage hotels around Rajasthan, the cracking old paint and the dusty gate gives it a sense of old school charm. Its like reading an old book :)

The room(ground floor) we stayed in was huge and the bathroom was even bigger. Maybe one of the biggest bathroom hotel I might have stayed in. My simple guess is, obviou5ly, the fort wasn't built keeping the future room designs in mind.

Its away from the hustle and is located in a small art town. Walking around the property on a cold winter night is a fun spooky experience. Recommended if your not looking for a luxury-bang of the buck heritage hotel, but for its allure for an era gone by.

Compared to most of the forts we visited in Rajasthan, this was not very well renovated. The Fort has a wonderful history, but has not been looked after well. We were sad to see that renovations were more commercial than in trying to bring the property back to the state of its former glory. The staff were not very friendly and the food was very average......maybe we caught them at a bad time! Overall, it was not a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Very steep stairs to the rooms and no elevators, so definitely not suitable for the elderly or disab...

That's done ! We spent two wonderful days and nights un this fort. Kind people to serve you. À magic place, the résidence of à Maharadja. We slept in the Queen suite. Amazing trip in the past of India. Our spécial gratitude to Mister Suwaisingh who served us. He made discover us the village and the habbits of indian people, children at school, walking together one afternoon. Their jobs, their ways of living. So interesting and différent ! Thanks a lot !
