North east India is known for the number of ethnic groups that inhabit the land. They are different - in looks, in their dresses, in culture, in their handloom and handicraft. And this Center captures all of these. What more, you will be lead by a knowledgeable guide to explain you through the galleries. Built beautifully, it has galleries showing the features of the people of this region, their crafts and weavings, their paintings, they way they work for their leaving, etc. If you want to learn about the traditional communities of the north eastern India, this is surely the place.

Very logically arranged artifacts and information. It gives a good comprehensive view of the life in the North East. One should ideally spend a day there. Also, do not miss the film show at the end.

This musuem is one of its kind in this part of the world. It houses the entire north east and its diverse tribes and cultures. It may not be centrally located in town and one might have to make an effort to find it. But once you reach you will marvel at the churches and houses in and around the vicinity. The musuem is a treasure of knowledge for everyone and is best visited with friends and family. It is very educative for young school children and scholars alike. You should also try the chowmien and momos in a little place called "homely hut" , just outside the museum.
