Visited this place again after 5 years or so and was happy with the experience. We wanted a dog-friendly place and this fit the bill perfectly. They also have 3 dogs of their own and that was no problem at all. They were friendly and our dog joined them for all the monkey chases. They also accompanied us everywhere we went. Had a great time with them.

Rooms are basic but spacious. They can easily accommodate 4 people. Bathroom is clean. We had to ask for the toilet paper and hot water which they provided promptly. Hot water is available in room but since we were early it was not available at that particular time. We also asked for additional bedsheets to accompany blankets and they were happy to provide. Every room comes with a balcony but be careful with your stuff or the monkeys might do away with them. Do not keep the windows open. There is no daily housekeeping though I am sure if you ask them they will do it for you.

Food is pure veg. Even though we are non-vegetarians, we never missed it. Portions are ample and they are always at your beck and call to provide anything you need more. We also took some rice for our dog and they did no mind. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. There are many games available like TT, carrom. They recently added a very charming little pool which is strictly for lounging. Tea coffee can be taken in room. The wifi works only near the reception area.

I liked that it was a bid deeper in the woods and we could not hear the hustle bustle of market etc. They have a shelf full of books at the reception. Price is pretty reasonable and one of the lowest for the services provided. We booked just a week in advance for a weekend trip. Its a lovely place. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Front facing rooms are bigger but may not be quieter.

We stayed there for 3 days, on a weekend so you can see crowd there, basic amenities were available like indoor (carrom, chess etc) & outdoor (badminton, TT etc) games.
Rooms offered to us were although clean but more hygiene could have been maintained. The hotel seems quite old.
Don't expect a luxury 4 star or 5 star stay. Beware of monkeys - lots of them around. Service is top notch just a call away if u need anything.
Their Food variety we didn't like; limited options we had. Also they DONT maintain the small pool they have- monkey were playing inside the pool water was like 1000 days old.

Hotel is situated in very quiet region at reasonable rates, rooms were clean and food was very nice. Staff is really helpful. There is carom and badminton court as well. This was my second visit to this hotel.

Wonderful location & good cuisine to relish on. Good Ambience with enthusiastic attitude of the Stewards is a welcome gesture. It is priced reasonable. The Entrance Reception is well maintained with front office managing the show with warmth.

This was in May 2006. Both my wife and I had a second honeymoon sort of at this hotel. This hotel is off the main road in Matheran in the midst of a jungle with lots of monkeys. I had a book and I had left it on the table, one monkey was sitting like a gentleman and was opening the book as if to read it.

Room Tip: Do not take rooms in the middle. Take a room situated either on the left or right side.
