very good location, budget hotel and helpful staff. Food was awesome, we really enjoyed the food. Hotel looks little old, though they need to renovate the rooms a little, but clean and peaceful. away from market and crowd, so no noise. Be sure carry some cash with you, as the ATM machine in matheran never works. Hotel management helped us in that as well, we had very little cash for shopping, so manager asked us to swipe in his machine and he gave us cash. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Value for Money Hotel. Food is better than Excellent. Service is very good. Staff Co-operative. Necessary Amenities available like Carrom, Badminton, TT and also playing area for small children. Nice Location about 15 minutes from the Railway Station and adjacent to the railway track. Rooms are good both A/C & Non A/C. Cleanliness has been maintained though being a hotel in the woods which is also a plus point.
All in All a Very good Family Budget hotel to stay with 4/5 rating..

There are couple of things about the hotel. Good things first [1] Location is good . Away from market inside the woods so basically away from crowd and noise, however incase u want noise and crowd then this may not be a good option. [2] Food is good simple and tasty ... In terms of luxury , please don't expect anything fancy, the rooms are neat and clean without AC (but with air coolers) , however very small in comparison to another hotel nearby ( there is a hotel - Cecil just opposite woodland which had really huge rooms - and by huge i mean really huge rooms and bathrooms) ... The hotel staff is very nice and helpfull ... esp Unni and Raju.. Nothing bad about the hotel. We went during June 2012 when it was raining. Matheran is very beautiful during rains..

This was the first time ever I was having such an awesome experience with my wife. Food here is very tasty. The staffs are very humble and friendly.
As far as the location is concerned, it is very nature friendly.

I really had a great stay here, looking forward for more stay here soon :)

I visited with my family & in-laws, & as I stay in a typical crowded urban city; my first choice was to find a secluded place in Matheran where vehicles are not allowed in the interiors of hill station. The hotel provides packages with food included for 2 nights or more. Hotel is located away from main market area of matheran, amidst a dense forest with only one more hotel in vicinity and away from main street on which horses ride. After sunset, we got a thrilling experience of walking through a dense forest and finding our hotel, with one or two signboards for direction at crossroads. Few rooms are secluded for privacy. Hotel serves fixed menu. Food is simple, limited & sometimes spicy. Horse rides can be booked from hotel and all scenic locations are away from this hotel. Monkeys & domestic dogs give you company during daytime and monkeys are aggressive. Its best not to instigate them by feeding even once. All belongings need to kept in room & room locked, as monkeys have learnt to open the latched doors. Room rates & service is excellent. Hotel staff is very very courteous. Its not a posh hotel, but very relaxing.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side, facing badminton court provide privacy.
