I booked for a 3 night stay in Kabbe holidays after reading the reviews at Tripadvisor. I visited Coorg along with my young children. I really liked the place. You will get a very rare experience of living very close to nature, and a water fall is in walking distance from your cottage. The location is a great plus point.
Following are some of the facts, which made us to cut short out stay to 1 night, instead of staying for 3 nights:
1. It took us 4 hours to reach Kabbe holidays from Mysore, whereas the host informed us that it would take only a couple of hours. The last 2 hours of journey was through very bad roads. This place is far off from any other visiting place in Coorg. It took us 2 hours of drive in horrible roads from Kabbe holidays to Tala Kaveri.
2. Service: If you stay in Kabbe holidays then you have to follow the rules of the host. We want dinner at 7.30 PM because it suits our dinner time. Initial response from the host was a NO. They said that their dinner time was at 9 PM or 9.30 PM. They served us dinner at 8 PM, but felt as though they did a great help to us. The next day, we asked for hot water at 6 AM because we want to travel to Tala Kaveri, and again the hosts said that hot water will be provided only after 8 AM. The water you get for bath is not good, as mentioned by other person in Tripadvisor.
3. Too much flow of Alcohol: We don't eat non-veg food and we do not consume alcohol. We didn't like the amount of alcohol the host drinks and offers to all the other guests. Somehow, we felt that the alcoholic environment is not good for our children. This is purely, our personal opinion, and you shouldn't worry if your food/drink habits are otherwise.

This place is good if you just visit it and stay there. It is not a suitable place if you plan to visit other parts of Coorg because of its distance and the kinds of roads surrounding Kabbe holidays.

Dilip, our warm and charming host whose hallmark is getting personally involved with his guests ensured we had one of our most memorable weekend getaways.
A visit to Kabbe creates a desire to return and spend more time in this wonderfully scenic and peaceful place.
To see the mist rolling in through your open french doors in the middle of the afternoon, while you sit reading, with a glass of your favourite tipple is a thing to remember. To see the male fireflies light up the trees to attract their mates was like watching a christmas tree all lit up, only better.
The treks in the hills and the drive to the falls were fantastic. The home cooked meals gave us a true taste of Coorgi cuisine. Our room was spacious, quaint and cutely rustic.
We would stronly recommend that anyone visiting Coorg should stop by Kabbe and give Dilip a shout.

Never thought that there exists such a beautiful place close a small town of Virajapet in Coorg. We visited the Kabbe Holidays in the month of June of 2010, I guess the timing of the visit was just right as the Summer was coming to an end and monsoons were fast approaching.
Kabbe holidays is beautiful home stay and it was a pleasure being their. Its a quite place with beautiful scenic view from the room window. There are a few places that one can visit in and around this home stay, you can go for a short trek, visit the river & waterfall for some beautiful pic’s and for the adventure buffs you can do rappling and kayaking along with a trek to a near by hill.
The accommodation is really good and the food is also amazing here with a traditional touch of Coorgi style cuisine. I really appreciate Dilip and his Staff in making our stay a wonderful one. It was a pleasure meeting Dilip and I must say the experience was like visiting some old friends and not staying in a hotel :)
I would love to visit this place again some time soon.

We just got back from Kabbe today, and we are really missing the place! Just shows how much we enjoyed our stay at Kabbe Holidays!!! Dilip and Vidya were great hosts, and made us feel so much at home... And the place is awesome- gave us an opportunity to be amidst nature at purest best! I would say Kabbe holidays is an ideal holiday destination.
