There is lot of communications gap between the staff leading to the delay of services. Food quality is just ok.

Front desk staff was not up to expectations. Staff providing food service to the rooms was good.

I visited Dalhousie with my wife and two kids in June, 2009 and stayed at Lall ji Resort. Inspite of the peak season, owner of the Hotel , Mr. Khanna blocked Luxury room from 11th June to 14th June over phone and that too without taking any advance money. We were courteously checked in and staff was courteous and understood that as we have reached after 14 hour journey completed the formalities in our Room itself.

The facilities in Hotel are very normal and considering the facilities, the price tag is bit high. However, there is tremendous scope to enhance facilities and make the Hotel luxirious in true terms. I would not have any problem in paying extra 3-4 thousand for three night package if facities could have been better. The best thing I liked was the location and quality of staff. Staff was cooperative and tried to understand the need of the customerand did whatever they could in limited facilities/resources they had.

This hotel is NOT one of the better locations, for there are hotels available in Dalhousie at much better places, offering great views. The hotel had limited common area, and it was somewhat unsafe for the kids. The rooms were average, and the view from the rooms were pretty ordinary. One thing that was really good was staff hospitality. They were really very concerned with our problems and served us well. The food was really good at the hotel.

We visited this hotel in May 2008 (19th May to 22nd May 08). Don’t go by description on various sites, i.e. this hotel is near bus stand. What I imagined was a congested place in crowded surroundings. But when we reached there, we were in for a pleasant shock. No bus stand & no hustle bustle of a big city in Dalhousie. The hotel is situated in a peaceful narrow lane & lush green surroundings. It is slightly elevated as compared to road & all rooms are valley facing.
Basically this is a small hotel with 12 or 13 rooms I guess. So u get very personalized attention & service. We received a very warm welcome by the front desk. Helpful staff. Especially an elderly person who was really paying attention to all the details & ensuring that we are getting all facilities as per our package, welcome drinks, daily morning tea and cookies, tasty breakfast & hot dinner.
Rooms are basic & comfortable. Could have looked cleaner without carpets. Bathrooms were clean.
It was nice experience to feel morning clouds entering our room & filling entire valley. Visibility reached zero with thick fog wrapping everything around.
Breakfast was served with so much of warmth . Cornflakes, Omelet, puri bhaji, paratha whatever u want they will make & serve for u. For dinner, they will ask for your choice.
Hotel has a bon- fire / barbeque area on top where some repair work was going on. As far as distances are concerned, Gandhi chowk & Subhash chowk walkways are near by. For all other places like chamba & khajjar one has to hire a vehicle. Location of the hotel is good.
Overall I liked the hotel because of extremely warm hospitality. If one is not expecting ultra luxurious facilities, but happy with simple warm stay, this hotel is really recommended.
