I stayed here this last weekend for a wedding down the street 4/21/12. It was a nice place, like all other Residence inns are, but the things that bothered me were when i first arrived. I pulled up for Valet parking got out of the car and no one came out, waited a good 5 mins or more. Standing by the car, Finally got back in and backed up into a parking meter, walked in the front door when someone greeted me. Asked if i would need valet, i said yes but you'll have to wait i parked at a meter, i then proceeded to check in.
I checked in, pulled up and they finally took my car, no one was in front of me, in fact another car came and pulled up as i got out of my car to go check in and put money in the meter, they came out and greeted them but not me. That's understandable if your busy, but they weren't when i pulled up. Not to mention $20 for an over night parking is a little much in my opinion I think they should have free parking, esp if you don't leave at all, but apparently downtown that's un heard of? But again we checked in, the room was nice, until i got in the shower Sunday morning. There was mold and mildew growing on the shower curtain and at that point to late to complain, i quickly showered and we left. Was it worth the money, No.... was the place nice, eh ya sure, there was spider webs in the windows along with dead spiders, SHouldn't this have been cleaned up esp if dead?, I've stayed at worse, but still, not worth the money, $160 including taxes and parking for 1 night, go somewhere else... Don't waist you money here. If you do stay here, If you need to buy anything, there is a convenience store down the street, or a CVS 2 blocks away. The fees for Tylenol, and Hairspray here is outrageous. Defiantly supply and demand in full force here. 4 dollars for a travel hairspray from the hotel, 4.50 for a full bottle down the street. I will not be back as i am sad to say, i like Residence Inns, just not this one.....
Maybe its Columbus all together, the taxi didn't show when i called for it 3 times, the front desk even started calling for me which was very nice of them, they did not need too.The pizza button on the phone in the room takes you to Donatos pizza and when they says 20 mins to an hour for deliver expect an hour and 20 mins, cold, burnt on the edges pizza. Just not any good experiences for anything downtown.... I wish i would have drove the 3 hours home....
