“Great Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Package!”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

We planned an impromptu weekend trip to Cleveland staying on a Saturday and Sunday night. Our plans were to visit the Christmas Story House and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Our room rate for our family of five was $150/night which included two tickets to the Hall of Fame each night (which meant we only had to purchase ONE ticket!) and free valet parking. The hotel offered a free shuttle, with reservations, to anywhere within a five mile radius which was great and extremely convenient (we shuttled to Tower City Mall a few blocks away in the evenings for dinner and just to explore the mall). The hotel is decent and acceptably clean, but our room was extremely small and the beds were small as well (we're used to a California king and after our stay here have decided we will never stay in another hotel room with "double" beds). We spent some time in the indoor pool/jacuzzi which was nice and mostly private - hardly anyone was there and it was tucked away in the basement - although the chlorine level was nearly more than we could withstand. We also took advantage of the fitness room which offered a decent selection of exercise machines. The hotel also offered a free washer/dryer with laundry soap which we took advantage of. Because the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame package is so very budget friendly (tickets are $22/each x 5 family members = $110), this is the place to stay. Also, the theater district is across the street and down a block from the hotel so if you're planning to see a play or production, you could literally walk. Other than that, we felt like the area around the hotel had the feeling of a ghost town - many empty storefronts and available properties. We would probably give this hotel a three because again while it was decent, there was really nothing special about it. We gave it a four, however, because the staff was OUTSTANDING. Every single person we dealt with was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about our needs. The Wyndham has done a good job of hiring the right people for the job!

There was a shortage of Hotel rooms in Cleveland, near The Cleveland Clinic. We found the Wyndham hotel on the internet, which was about a mile from the clinic. This hotel was a great place to stay. They also provided a free shuttle to and from the clinic. Would definetly use this hotel again when we need to return to the clinic.

Dear Scott C,

Thank you for finding the Wyndham on the internet and giving us a chance to host you during your trip to the Clinic. Our convenient location and complimentary shuttle service (with advance reservations) makes it very easy to get back and forth to all of the area hospitals. We look forward to seeing you again on your next trip.

Spent a week at this facility on business (first time @ Wyndham) and, for the most part, had a comfortable stay. Their Happy Hour is NE of Cleveland's best with 1/2 off all drinks and appetizers. Room was clean and comfortable - though the building itself is dated. I'd cite the Fitness Room and Business Center as my major disappointments. FC equipment outdated (I chose to run outdoors instead) and BC didn't have fax capability. Front desk folks were nice but couldn't help. The Cirque de Soleil cast were guests as well and all the playhouses are within walking distance. You're also a short trek to Browns Stadium. Not the best for business and I'd likely choose another option when back in Cleveland.

A group of ladies spent a night in Cleveland to see Lord of the Dance and booked the "Hot in Cleveland" package deal at the Wyndham Cleveland at Playhouse Square. Upon arrival, we took advantage of their valet parking. It cost $20 for overnight parking but was nice to unload and walk right into the lobby. Check in was quick and easy. The hotel booked our 3 rooms on the same floor. Rooms were very nice, soft beds, comfy pillows. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious. I chose grilled scallops. One person commented that her steak was the best she'd ever eaten. Another convenience was the location to the theater. We walked a block to the theater. Our package included breakfast at the hotel. It was a buffet and they had a cook on- hand to prepare omelets. Once again the food was very tasty. Upon check out, we gave the valet 15 minute notice and our car was waiting at the hotel door. I hope to return to Cleveland to see more plays and will definitely stay at the Wyndham. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask if they have any package deals that include breakfast.

Stayed this past weekend, to catch a concert at Playhouse Square. Overall, it was fine. However, you simply can't beat the location, if you're in town for the theater.

Positive: Front desk & valet were excellent. Very friendly, even made sure we had dinner reservations. As I stated, the location is perfect for the theater, but is also easily walkable for the Q, Progressive Field & all the food & entertainment options on 4th Street. Room was very clean. Nice ergonomic chair. Flat screen tv had actual HD channels.

Just Ok: The room itself. It was fine, but nothing special. Price was acceptable, but not a "deal." The location is what made it worth the money.

Not so great: The bed. WAY too soft, we both woke up pretty sore. It's also pretty noisy. You can hear EVERYTHING in the hall. The heating / ac unit didn't work...not even the fan. Fortunately, due to excellent weather, it wasn't a big deal. We didn't even bother mentioning it until check-out.

If the price was right, we'd stay here for future theater trips.
