“Beautiful Countryside”
Reviewed 26 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This property is surrounded by beauty. The scenery is magnificent. We were met by the owner Steve and an efficient and very helpful and friendly young man from England Dan. We were given a tour and a glass of orange juice and shown to the communal kitchen. There is a beautiful view from every window. There is a four poster bed, the bathroom is quaint and old fashioned. The toilet actually has a chain. The Victoria Room is large and adorned with paintings and has a Turkish rug. There are high cathedral type ceilings. Breakfast is continental and served between 7 and 9am on the balcony overlooking the river. If you do go out at night they leave all the lights on for you. The only downside here was noise. Due to the proximity and set up of other rooms you tend to hear everyone. Also the lights from other rooms shine into the Victoria room. The couple next door had a problem with ants and kept putting the lights on which affected us to a degree.
A perfect location and lots of beautiful trees and plants to photograph.

“Stunning Location, A Hidden Jewel in the Rainforest.”

So delighted I found the Grand Barron Lodge , this is a Master Built House with the charm , comfort and class of a gone by era, nestled in the bush it hangs over the Barron River and has been aesthetically decorated with unique and beautiful furnishings. I arrived feeling tired and left restored and revived. Steve the owner and your host is an Artist and his beautiful artworks grace the walls making you feel as if you have arrived home , I felt at ease and relaxed.
You can just chill here for days or a 15 minute drive to Kuranda you have access to Cafes, Markets , Kuranda Rail , Skyrail and bushwalks. A hop away are the National Parks of Davies and Emerald Creek and more . Next time I would like to stay longer .
