We arrived - to the middle of nowhere it seemed, to a series of four cabins perched on a hillside overlooking a working farm and an old very large Yabby farm waterbed that now serves as a gorgeous location for events, with an old (but newly built) barn alongside it that has been well set up for some grand old country ho-downs.
The friendly wave from Barb the owner as she climbed into her golf cart and directed us to the main house further up the hill ensured us that this was a friendly place, but boy were we in for a surprise.
After checking in and having a chat with our hostess who assured us of wine and a cheese platter being in the fridge ready for us, and that breakfast was included, we ventured back along the track and entered 'number 2' of the four identical cabins.
Wow - this is lovely... I said to my husband, who had found the place on Booking.com. As we inspected the place, we opened doors and cupboards, took in the simply fabulous perfect sized (for two) spa bath on the enclosed balcony part of the room, the massive and oooh-la-lah comfortable king sized bed that faced out to the view and breathed a huge sigh of contentment each. It was the perfect get away spot for two very tired and overworked people.
Over the next two days//nights (we extended to two when we got there having originially booked only one night) we walked the friendly farm, swam in the quaint swimming hole, sat on the desk, BBQd on that deck and unwound in the tub. We read, enjoyed the peace and tranquility and dined on the magnificent breakfasts provided as part of our very reasaonable fee. I have to say that the croissants were the best I've had in ages! And the eggs delicious!!

I can't recommend this place highly enough. The thought that has gone into appointing the cabins with all that you need and some things you don't even know you want until you want them is outstanding and one of the best 5 star quality stays I've ever enjoyed - anywhere in the world. The very scenic drive out to Yabbaloumbra took an hour from Caloundra, but was absolutely worth it.
We are going back - hopefully soon - to one of Qlds' best kept secrets in retreat getaways.
Thanks Barb and Lloyd!

Room Tip: There are only four cabins - excellent value for money. Not much to do there - and if that's what you're seeking it's perfect!

My husband's comment to me said it all. "Each time I come here, I feel at home" This was our second trip (the first being 18 months ago) So we've been in winter and now in Summer. Still lush and green, but a bit sad to see the water levels down, although not so down that we couldn't enjoy a lovely float in the creek at the resort. The units are just devine, and the food fresh, delicious and plentiful. There is nothing to fault this wonderful piece of paradise. It provided a much needed peaceful break away for us. Favourite part? Torn between floating in the creek or sitting on the deck early in the morning watching the calves give their mums heart attacks when they wander off or sitting out the front in the late afternoon watching the storms roll in and around. HINT for those wanting to find a wifi spot. We stayed in Cabin 4 - best reception was by taking a dongle and putting it up on top of the fireplace (obviously not the spot in winter ;) - Thank you guys for a wonderful few days away. Hope to see you again soon.

Room Tip: we've had Cabin 4 both times. I don't think one would be better than the other.

The Yabbaloumba retreat is by far the best place I've stayed. You receive a complimentary bottle of wine and cheese platter upon arrival. You are provided with bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, yoghurt and muesli and a fruit platter for breakfast for the next morning all upon arrival. In the morning one of the lovely staff delivers fresh croissants to your door. The views are breath taking you'll be sitting outside all day - even in the colder weather. And don't worry about getting cold, there is a gas heated fire, reverse cycle aircon and an incredible spa bath all in your deluxe cottage. Definitely will be coming here again. Such a beautiful, romantic spot!

My husband and I booked a trip to yabbaloumba in winter for a weekend getaway. It was absolutely amazing! Barb and Lloyd up at the homestead are so welcoming and made everything so easy. The breakfast hampers are lovely and it was really nice not to have to stop for anything on the drive, or venture out too early for breakky. We loved that we could saunter around the property, have a wine on the private patio and the fire and spa in the room were the icing on the cake. We cant wait to go back.

Room Tip: The furtherest away from the homestead was great - super private.

We stayed here for 2 nights to get away from it all and are so glad we did!
Fireplace, spa tub, deck overlooking beautiful scenery, delicious daily breakfast, what more could you ask for?!
The cabins are in a row but positioned perfectly so they are private,we only knew others were staying because we saw their cars - otherwise we didn't see anyone else the entire time.
They really have thought of everything and you won't want to leave!
