Yes this place needs TLC and I think a better facilities to preserve those species better in the future. We were stunned to see how huge the collection was!! from all over the world and wondered how did he do that ? It is worth a visit of course and $10.- is not too expensive when you compare to the hard work this guy has to do. Sometimes the pics in this don't do the justice, have to come and see it yourselves!!

We decided to have a look, but when I saw the admission price I was hesitant- I shouldn't have been. It was truly wonderful and the lady was very informative and welcomed questions. I couldn't believe it when another group was in and out in 15 minutes , we needed much more time than that. Really beautiful. There was a lovely little creek up the back too.

Yeah ok the place needs some TLC but the collection and hidden gems are what it's all about. Steve has put his heart and soul into this outstanding collection and you could see some Leaf Stick Insects and Peppermint Stick insects which are really cool, their colour is amazing. Steve is very knowledgeable and knows his insects and bugs. My adult kids were mesmerised by all the sizes and shapes of all the insects and bugs and loved watching the butterflies flying around. The Tranquil spot by the creek is beautiful and you can watch the fish, catfish and eels...or take a refreshing dip and have a picnic. Worth a visit on your way up to Cape Tribulation!!

I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a display of one man's collection of tropical insects. The collection is amazing. The colours and sizes of the insects are great. Great way to learn more about the tropics.

Pro tip: bring cash.
