Amazing collection and friendly information.

$10 each was probably a bit expensive. But everything in this area seems to be. A small collection... read more

i thought this place was something really special. There are 100s of stunning bugs n butterflies collected from all over the world (and the daintree region) and gathered into a display museum. unbelievable specimens. they also have a beautiful creek to cool off in.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a display of one man's collection of tropical insects. The collection is amazing. The colours and sizes of the insects are great. Great way to learn more about the tropics.

Pro tip: bring cash.

One of my daughters have always wanted to be an entomologist, she was over the moon visiting here. Such a vast collection, our other kids were similarly keen exploring the collection too. After seeing the collection we were invited to check out the perch, eel tailed catfish, and turtles in the creek on the property and the kids loved spotting the fish. Well worth a visit!

First impression of this museum is one of a fine establishment gone into disrepair. The physical structure remains but needs a professional to aid it's recovery. I thoroughly enjoyed the grand shows of moths, butterflies , beetles etc., , intruiged by the fact that they came from the far corners of the world from whence they were collected, however , this HUGE display could be enhanced by proper lighting, clearer description and larger type ( for older folk ). The floor was simply beautiful as were the display cabinets and art work of one man Mr. Lamond a life time's work put into this exhibition. I handled stick insects , marvellous creatures , barely distinguishable in their natural environment. Please some one ,somewhere, rescue this museum before it is completely lost! New pamphlets are required too, handed out to visitors during their visit. The old ones are tattered.

This place had the largest and best collection of butterflies and insects that we've seen. The owner's genuine passion for these animals is self evident, and it is great that the broader population is able to enjoy his life's work. Also good interaction with stick insects for the kids. Would recommend.
