Just back from a week at Rose Bay Resort in Bowen, Queensland, Australia. It is definitely a 'must do'. The resort itself is highly recommended with a variety of self contained units to suit any requirements. The location and surrounds are spectacular with so much to do. There is a reef just off the beach - check out the movie. Situated on the south eastern side, Rose Bay captures the breeze, overlooks the Whitsunday channel and is very peaceful and quiet. There is a walking track close by so you can explore Murray Bay and Horseshoe Bay. Th

Nice place to stay and chill out but a little bit remote. Not many restaurants, bars or shops around but fine if you have a car. It's a quick drive into town. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.

We stayed for five nights at the Rose Bay Resort. Our apartment was very well equipped and spacious with a balcony overlooking the stunning bay and the perfect sunrise. The beach is right in front of the resort. We swam and fished from the beach . There are sea kayaks to take out as well.At low tide we could swim out to a reef which was great for snorkelling with plenty of fish. Around the area there are a few other beaches so if the sea was a little to choppy at Rose Bay we would just pop around the corner to Grays Beach where it was flat calm and perfect for swimming and watching the sunset.Bowen is a quiet town but you must try breakfast or the pies from Joaquims bakery as well as have an evening meal atthe Grand View pub. The port is very close by and you can buy fish & chips there or the freshest prawns which were delicious. We used this hotel as a base to travel to Airlie beach whch took about an hour to drive.
