“Comfortable stay, lovely views and great location.”
Reviewed 28 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Comfortable, cozy cottage for two in the lovely village of Youlgreave. Fantastic views and walks to be had. Everything you need for a self catering stay although the Farmyard Inn is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely stay over Easter with our dog and enjoyed some lovely walks in the area. We are not walkers (and were clearly in the minority) and also used the rental as a base to explore Bakewell and Buxton.

Not suitable for those with mobility problems. Parking available on the street a short walk away. This is made clear on booking and communication with the owner was clear with lots of tips and advice given.

We will definitely return.

This was our second stay and as good as the first. The cottage is very cosy and the views are just wonderful - eating breakfast and looking down to the river is magical.

“Just perfect”
Reviewed 3 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Just come home from Overdale Cottage and want to go back again! If you're after a relaxing few days interspersed with fabulous views, amazing scenery, and friendly villagers look no further! We found it! It normally takes me a couple of days to feel comfortable when away from home (as my husband will confirm!) - not here though. Felt instantly at home and relaxed in this delightful cottage. The walk down to the cottage was fun - good for the thighs :) - and beautiful views from the cottage down the valley. Great local walks and a visit (or several) to the Farmyard Inn is a must - fab friendly staff who greeted us like locals. We will definitely be going back here and taking our bikes - saw several bike trail areas. Took our dog Bailey this time and we had no problems taking him with us as dogs seem to be welcomed everywhere (including the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath). Great location for visiting many of the sights of the Peak District.

“A lovely, warm and inviting cottage. Excellent location.”
Reviewed 20 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We had a fabulous, restful break. The cottage is ideally located and we were able to go on several walks straight from the cottage - it was great not to have to use the car . We enjoyed lunch at the Lathkil Hotel and next time will try the delicious looking pies. We ate in a couple of nights and the cottage was very well equipped. It was very warm and cosy on one of the coldest nights of the year. We would also recommend the Farmyard Inn and we went to the Bull's Head which has recently opened. On both occasions the food was excellent. We hope to return in the summer when we could enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace and the lovely views of the river.
