“Everything we needed and more!”
Reviewed 19 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

A delightful, well appointed, tastefully decorated cottage located in the village of Tideswell. My siblings and I were there for a reunion to explore the High Peaks and valleys. The location was quiet yet minutes away from shops, pubs etc. Brilliantly positioned for all the places we wished to visit. Previous Trip Advisor reviews sold it to us initially and we weren't disappointed! Cosy, warm and tastefully modernised it also sported a lovely little courtyard at the back for evening drinks. The kitchen was a good size and provided all the equipment we needed (and more)., The master bedroom was large and airey with a lovely full length window and veluxe (with electric blind). The second bedroom was smaller but there was plenty of room. The bathroom was small but well designed to maximise the space. We all felt very positive about our stay there. Our only suggestion would be that the master bedroom could take twin beds to increase the flexibility of sleeping arrangements for other parties. Communication with the owner was easy and prompt. Would absolutely recommend!

Liked best: The whole cottage was a delight
Liked least: Second bedroom was rather bright in the mornings due to lack of blinds on veluxe windows.

“Gorgeous cottage in wonderful Tideswell-recommend a stay here”
Reviewed 9 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

My husband, his parents and I stayed in Kate's lovely 'Fernlea' cottage over the weekend. The location was absolutely wonderful-when looking for a village in the Peak District to stay in, I would highly recommend Tideswell. It is tiny, beautiful and serene but with lovely restaurants (Nelly's, The Merchants Yard), a bakery, and some nice pubs. The cottage itself was fabulous, very well equipped and comfortable. The owner, Kate, had furnished us with crumpets, milk, eggs and biscuits on arrival which was a very nice touch. The kitchen is amazing, the cooker is fit for a wonderful roast should you be so inclined, with many hobs and many ovens! Bedrooms very comfortable, great shower and very good heating, and a wood burning fire. The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk from the village centre, but if you walk in the opposite direction (up from the cottage) you get taken on a trail for a good/scenic walk. So it feels like you are far away from everything but a two minute walk from the centre at the same time.

Highly recommend and looking forward to the next time we can stay in Fernlea.
