“Lovely break”

Fab place. Very well looked after. Carole (owners mother) was really lovely and very kind. The accommodation has a really homely feel.
We didn't get much time to see the pubs and restaurants around Ashbourne because we chose to squeeze in scenic views around dove dale and mil dale instead. We will definitely return to stay at Roberts retreat and explore the local area more.
A short romantic weekend retreat.

“Fabulous”

Stayed for a weekend and it was lovely. Cottage is well maintained, very clean and well equipped. Ashbourne market place is literally 'on the doorstep' with plenty of shops, pubs and places to eat. All in all it's fantastic value for money and well worth a visit.

“Excellent town house with all you need”
Reviewed 15 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed at Robert's Retreat during October. The town house is small but has everything you need. The owner had also provided tea/coffee and biscuits which were very welcome after a wet day outside! The house is in an excellent location close to shops/restaurants in Ashbourne and within easy driving distance of Dovedale, Tissington trail, Carsington reservoir etc.

The only 2 negative points are that it is quite noisy with traffic early in the morning as it is right on the main road. The other negative is the lack of parking. We did find parking further up the hill for free and were then allowed to park outside the neighbouring property as no-one was staying there.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again.

“Perfect”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We love Roberts Retreat. Seconds from the market square but nicely tucked away on the hill away from the bustling square too. A really creative use of space and smart decor. A cute and private seating area out the back and a really well equipped, comfortable property. Would highly recommend. Would also recommend the Coach and Horses for a meal and The Bridge has a lovely outdoor space. Ashbourne is a really friendly, 'holiday feel' town with lots of unique shops to browse and plenty if coffee bars packed with walkers, cyclists and holiday makers. A gem for us. We've already booked to go again and the property next door for family, which is even better! Brilliant. :-)
