We went for evening meal, the kids loved the bouncy castle, animals and play park. The small bites menu was varied and so much better than the usual kids menu, I had the lasagne from this menu and it was plenty for me, the children both had gammon and eggs and for £6 it was very good value. Hubby had fish and chips and it was a really good size. Definitely recommend.

After carefully finding a suitable rest stop for the four of us ( two adults two children) trip advisor welcomed this place. On glance play garden, bouncy castle and alcohol perfect. One round bought for all 4 equals £16,70 - 4 drinks and two packets of crisps.

After sitting enjoying the view it is a tad run down. And not many people visiting and no food from 3-5pm.

And to better that the thieving bxxxxxxx then overpriced two double standard gin and tonics at £16,70 when our first round of 1 carling, 1 double gin and tonic and two packets of crisps + kids drinks cost the equivalent.

So £8.35 for one gin and tonic double.

On asking the bar staff they seemed unsure how to deal with me questions, thanks for the rip off spend it on the gaff ✌️

Located in the picturesque Derbyshire village of Mappleton near the historic town of Ashbourne is the Okeover Arms - a lovely family run inn serving terrific food. Generous portions and at a great price. Really recommend the fish and chips! I am certain many of you will be taking pics to put on Facebook!

I really enjoyed my stay and found the owners and staff very friendly. The breakfast was just amazing!
Delicious marmalade by the mum of the owner!
I had a field of grazing sheep opposite my bedroom window. They dutifully traipsed into a neighbouring field at night and silently reappeared in the morning!
Venture into beautiful Ashbourne and the historic St Oswald's Church or travel on local buses which take you on a journey full of rolling green countryside and sleepy villages.

Derbyshire is one of the most beautiful and ancient counties of England - I came here to research my family ancestry dating back to the mid 17th century.
I wasn't disappointed!
