Big pot of tea and yummy home made cakes. Wish we could have stopped for longer! A great stop for walkers.

A great little cafe selling gorgeous homemade bread , great coffee and a variety of delicious dishes using local produce.Three Hares also provided us with a lovely Lancashire lamb hot pot supper for 30 guests (half of whom were from the US) the night before a wedding . We had excellent service and can't recommend them enough .

Sorry it sounds awful I know but bitter experience says that there is very little that is brilliant in the area - you can eat well but don’t expect surprise or genius. The
Three hares is definitely an exception to that rule. It’s pure genius. It would be stand out, destination eating in the white hot centres of food creation in Bristol or
London. The food is local, with a twist. Honestly having eaten in some of the best this warm and friendly unassuming place is better than many a place with far greater accolades— Sedbergh you are lucky to have it - please support the team they are really offering something very special.
The food that justifies this accolade - well you pitch up and find out. But who knew that Douglas fir was an ingredient!
Thank you for such a brilliant surprise.

Very friendly Bistro feel about the place. Very welcoming. Food was the most inventive, interesting and superb quality we have had in ages, including at some top places. Sensible prices. All round brilliant.

Rustic little cafe but with great restaurant quality food! Currently only open a few days a week in the evenings. Recommended to dine here by our hosts at The Malabar, the Hares didn't let them down...we really enjoyed our meal, had starters...Sea Bream Ceviche which was a burst of flavours and a lovely pigeon dish, the Hogget for main... and a Turbot dish both very nicely presented and flavoursome. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality enjoyed...Thank you!
