What more could you ask for? Great meal with the family here after a ride on the steam train. We booked ahead and it was a good thing we did as it was quite busy. I could imagine this place being rammed in high season.
The salad came with quite a lot of fruit.

We travelled from Millom to Whitehaven by train and on the return journey stopped off here for tea.
Popular place as all the tables were reserved for later in the evening but we had a 90min window to eat our meal and that suited us fine.
Decent selection of ale and good value food menu.

This is appeared a popular place to eat although it is quite cramped. Some of the seating is in booths just like a railway carriage and next to the train platform. Unfortunately this doesn't allow much room for guests/waiting staff to pass. The kid's meals are reasonably priced, but I have never seen so much fruit on a seafood salad. It was quite unusual to eat my crab, prawns and salmon with blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, pomegranate, pineapple, blueberries, orange and physalis to name but a few, I certainly got my 5 a day!

We went to Ravenglass on the steam train from Eskdale and didn’t find much there. So took a punt on this unassuming pub at the station. Full of railway memorabilia, a warm fire and a decent pint of Coniston Blue. We had a lovely home made spicy lentil and bacon soup for lunch. Friendly staff.

Love this place. Great atmosphere. Friendly. A mixture of locals and tourists, all willing to have a good gossip! It's our "go to" pub. Dogs particularly welcome!
