“Wonderful chilled holiday”
Reviewed 31 January 2016 for a stay in July 2015

On arrival at the site it was very hard to find the accommodation and the site had problems with the gates but this wasn't the fault of the owners of the holiday home.

When we got there it was situated in a beautiful quiet spot right next to a Forrest (which the dog loved). Inside was immaculate and very cosy. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings with a cold drink. There is a lake within 1 minute walk and plenty to do in the area.

Overall this was an excellent holiday and will be looking to book again very soon.

Thank you!

“Excellent location and very comfortable!”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed Monday to Friday with our little dog Beau.
Lodge is spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. Decking and outdoor furniture superb. There is even a little gate which leads directly into the wooded dog walking area!
Location of lodge is excellent, a short stroll to Lake Windermere itself and Brockhole visitors centre is within easy walking distance from where you can get a boat to the northern parts of the Lake.
Bowness a short drive away, is lively with plenty of bars and restaurants and central for getting boats to other parts of the Lake.
The weather was very kind to us and we visited Ambleside, Windermere, Wrays Castle, Coniston, Hawkshead and went on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway.
Beau went with us everywhere except Beatrix Potter's Hilltop. Dogs are not allowed (except assistance dogs) anywhere in the grounds which was very disappointing.
I can understand not being allowed in the cottage but not the grounds.
The National Trust even have an actual photo of Beatrix Potter with her Collie on its promotional literature which I find very ironic!
We had an excellent break and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone.
One little thing though a coffee table would be nice in lounge area to put drinks on.

“Very comfortable stay for family break”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed in this lodge in the middle of august and found it a good base to see the local area and beyond. Thanks to Ian the owner who was always there if you had any questions and everything went smoothly from booking the lodge till leaving after our stay. The lodge itself is perfect for a family break and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very cosy and clean it also has a nice decking area with some lovely new furniture to enjoy sitting outside. Problem was we didn't get the best of weather while there so didn't get to use as much as we would have liked!! The only minor thing would be the mattress on the double bed could have been slightly more comfortable but that is the only negative I found
Regarding the site, can't comment on the food served in bar or swimming as didn't use but the site is in a great location and right on Lake Windermere. The only negative would be the sports court looked a little tired and wasn't that big for older children and the play area is really catered for small children. Also I noticed on the few times I went into bar area it always looked like it needed cleaning. These are only minor things and all in all would definitely stay here again if holidaying in the area.
