If you are in the general Lake District area a trip to Cartmel Village and Priory is a must. The village itself is very small and quaint with a handful of local speciality shops and the Priory is stunning. It dates back to the 12th century and it's definitely worth having a look inside to appreciate the size and detail of the building. There is no charge but a donation is suggested. One of the most magnificent churches I have seen to date.
