So much to do here. You can go for serious walks, bike rides or simply mess around by the lake. Perfect!

Ennerdale Water is a quiet, hidden away gem of a place, near the little village of Ennerdale Bridge. It is a lovely place to go for walks and get away from it all. There are no facilities here, and a very small car park, but if you want to experience peace and quiet and beautiful scenery, this is the place.

The day bagan with a link walk from our Inn to Ennerdale Water and then a long scramble on rock and slippery tree roots and over some fairly dangerous rocky outcrops along the Water's south edge. We had to stop at regular intervals to appreciate the views otherwise it was head down watching every step.

The weather continued to be kind to us and the mists cleared to reveal a lovely sunny day and the full extent of the Water. We paused atop Robin Hood's Chair to savour the moment.

Well worth the effort.

Travelled for a four day break in Ennerdale despite the weather reports (after consulting the Landlord at our accommodation) and boy was it worth it. The scenery was stunning, and the snow topped fells were just beautiful. Walking in the valley a bit soggy but we got 3 walking days with virtually no rain in March so more than happy

Visited twice over Christmas period. Lovely quiet place to stand and stare! Snow on the hill tops made for some great photos.
