Happened to drop in on this place as were looking for a light lunch. Just had panni but they were delious served with fresh basil. Very reasonable pric d for Alderley Edge. The owner, a pleasant Italian chap is quite a character & takes great delight in feeding the crows fresh pasta, he tells us all about them! The cafe is in need of some tlc but is very quaint & I liked the fact it showed its age as it helps tell it's story which is always nice.

This is a very quirky little restaurant/cafe. After getting eyed by Victor, he decided to serve me, I took a table by the window with a glass of wine and explained to Victor what I wanted. He then disappeared and five minutes later came back to serve me exactly what I had asked for. And it was fabulous!

The restaurant is really starting to show its age and is in desperate need of a refurb, I guess this is unlikely to happen, you really just need to take the place for what it is.

Victor has no menu, no prices (he makes them up on the spot) no set opening/closing times and its just down to luck if you eat here.

No menu, one man cooks and serves. We were offered a choice of pizza, fish cakes and spinach and ricotta ravioli which we chose. While he made these we were given a few slices of very tasty bushetta. The ravioli was light, delicious in a really good and light tomato sauce, nothing like the heavy, sticky sauces offered by most Italian restaurants.
Just like good home cooked food.
We indulged in a slice of lemon flan. Very unusually for me , flavoured with rose water, and scattered with pine nuts and served with a few grapes and a couple of slices of melon. A beautiful combination which I really enjoyed in spite of the fact that I don't usually like things flavoured with rose water. The chef has a very light touch.

Firstly Victor wouldn't thank me for writing a review, he doesn't entertain the idea of all and sundry patronising what is by far the best culinary experience Alderley has to offer. The facade of the premises is dated and displays no sign, it's as inconspicuous as can be, by design. You may not even find this place hidden in plain sight. The door is often locked during opening hours to dissuade the casual opportunist diner, in summer even the tables outside display their permanent reserved signs. However, if you are lucky enough to catch the door unlocked and Victor gives you the nod of approval you're in for a treat. The decor, tables and chairs are fabulously unimpressive. There are no menus, there are no payment card facilities, there are no frills. What there is on offer is the most fantastic, freshly prepared, authentic Italian cuisine you can imagine. Just tell Victor what you want and he will create your dish freshly from scratch. From pizza to lobster you will not be disappointed. This place is an absolute gem, lost in time, its authenticity in stark contrast to the soulless glass and chrome restaurants that surround it. This is how food used to be and I guarantee if you ever eat here you will want to return. Victor, I salute you!

A great find, if a little eccentric. One man prepares and serves the food with a smile. No menu, he just asks you what you want and prepares it completely fresh. We had beautiful minestrone soup, served with toasted ciabatta topped with pesto. Very tasty. Followed by freshly toasted cheese panini. Highly recommended.
