Fantastic lunch today with the children. We could have been in Italy, the ambience was perfect. Th children had pizzas and I had the fish cakes. For the first time in along time the children cleared their plates. I wish there were more restaurants like it. Thanks

Prontofresco is a quirky little cafe on the main road which runs through Alderley Adge. It is run by an elderly genteman named Victor. The cafe is decorared with lots of what looks like authentic italian memorabilia. there are checked tablecloths on the tables and newspapers should you wish to read whilst there, There is no menu. Viktor will ask you what you want and provide examples such as pasta, soup and fishcakes. We tried the minestrone soup and also the buschetta with pesto. I have alos tried the fishcakes in the past. Both delicious. Hot drinks are served in mugs ( more than enough provided). Vikcor will chat away to customers in a friendly way. I got the impression that regulars come into the place. If you want something a bit different for brunch or lunch then try Prontofresco if you're passing by.

This cafe is run by an elderly Italian man on his own called Victor who acts as waiter and chef. There is no menu - he just asks what you want and lists pasta, soup, pizza, fish cakes etc. He then proceeds to cook your food behind the counter. The food itself is fantastic. I had minestrone and my partner had fish cakes - both delicious. Original rustic Italian food. Most of the customers seem to know Victor and he chats to most people. The place is a bit eccentric with bags of coffee, flags and other memorabilia doted around. But I love this place and Victor. Go and experience a piece of eccentric Italy and enjoy some authentic home cooked Italian food.
