Our family (2 adults and 2 boys 8 & 10) booked here because the Waipio Rim cottages we were looking at were unavailable. Wow! This place is better! The view is simply amazing and the orchard and grounds are very well maintained by Paula and Dan. The accommodation itself is light, airy, clean, and did I mention the view! The view in the advertised photo is the view from the studio. While the room (studio) was fine for the 4 of us it would be superb for 2. It is well located being very close to the Waipio Valley overlook and to the shops in Honokaa as well. The boys enjoyed exploring the grounds and even found a lovely old trail down to a little stream.

First time to Hawaii and we had a wonderful experience staying in the Studio cottage at Hale Kukui. The room was immaculate and the king size bed was heavenly. The view from the cottage are astounding; the week we were there we saw dozens of whales in the bay.
The cottage had a nicely supplied-kitchen-bath-dinning area. Paula and Dan are fabulous host and were very helpful with information on good day hikes and great swimming beaches.
Had a very memorable-romantic holiday. I would recommend this place to any couples looking for a glorious vacation stay,
Dawn & Scott
