“SIMPLY AMAZING AND WONDERFUL”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

We stayed at the Grand Sirenis from March 28th to April 8th and wonderful is how we would describe it. It is amazing at the energy each and every associate at the resort has. A huge hats off to Miguel at Pool #1 for the exceptional entertainment and energy he and all his co workers show each and every day. To the bartenders, chefs, pool side waitresses. grounds keepers, waiters, what ever we needed they were there to assist in everything, I could go on and on but do try this resort , you will not be disappointed.

Another great vacation at the Grand Sirenis, Mexico! I have been to the resort several times now and have nothing but positive things to say about my trips. The staff are always super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, Julian at the main breakfast/lunch buffet is especially friendly and accommodating to his guests. The food is always delicious and the options are endless. My Favorites are the Brazilian and Japanese! The rooms are beautiful and well kept. The beach is amazing!! Lots of great snorkeling right at the resort. Grounds are very well maintained as well. Thanks for another great vacation :)

We just returned from the Grand Sireneis Riviera Maya on April 9, 2012. We are a family of four with 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 & 10)

We really enjoyed our time at this resort. There was plenty of things to do for everyone so getting bored here is not an option.

Our room was very large and super clean as well. The fridge was fully stocked daily and the air conditioning worked like a dream. We have been to many resorts over the years and this room was as clean and fresh as they come.

The beach was great if you like to snorkel and have calmer waters. The sand is not as powdery as the Dominican but quite nice none the less. This is a coral beach area so there are chunks of coral in the sand. Not a big deal. We also wore our beach shoes into the water to protect the feet. There are plenty of fish in the water as well so feeding them and seeing all there cool colours was fun as well. Our kids had fun exploring the little coves and climbing up the rock outcroppings as well.

We spent 90% of our time on the beach but hitting the pools and lazy river was a great as well. They were very clean and a nice little break from the salt water.

The food was your typical all inclusive bufffet style with the opportunity to book a la carte restaurants as well. The food is not 5 star but was always fresh and offered a lot of variety. The only place I have been to with better food was in the Dominican. I ate steak at 2 of the a la carte restaurants and both times it was fantastic.

The entertainment was the best surprise of all. Every night there was a new show in the theatre. These shows were not your typical cheesy shows. It was always full and the entertainers did amazing work. Here in Alberta we would pay $100+ to see shows like this (Stage West).

I also used the scuba diving services offered at this resort. The diving was a 2 minute boat ride from the resort and the diving was really quite good. In the past I have used off site diving shops but then you loose a day at the resort driving around etc. Iwould recommend these guys as there boats were top notch and they had good, safe equipment. Everyone was super friendly and professional as well.

This was a great place and we would go back again.

This was my second time back to the Grand Sirenis. I had been there last year for a friend's weddign where I met my current girlfriend and we returned for a 2 week vacation at the end of March 2012. The resort was still as impressive as the first time I'd been. The staff are all friendly, helpful and attentive. We booked through Westjet vacations and had only one slight problem with a request of a king size bed. This request never made it to the resort but Juan "Johnny Boy" was quick to try and correct the issue. He wasn't able to do anything on our arrival day but said if we didn't switching rooms after the first night he could have us moved to a room with 1 king bed.

The food is awesome. There is a huge variety and you'll have a hard time deciding between 3 a la carte restaurants in a week. We really enjoyed the japanese and brazilain. For a good lunch every day we discovered this year that the "el rancho" steak house grilled fresh meat and fish every day for lunch. So I wouldn't bother booking that as an a la carte when you can enjoy it every day at lunch.

If you're headed down there thinking that you won't have anything to do you're absolutely wrong. There is more than enough activites on the resort. We spend every day by pool #3 and enjoyed the personalities of a few of their great Animination (entertainment) team. Miguel, his brother Johnny and Carlos are a few that stood out. They made the effort to remember our names and come around the pool every morning to wish us a good morning. They were great at passing by everyone and telling them about the upcoming activities. We participated in water polo, volley ball, trivia and crazy games every day. Another thing that they have on the resort is a disco. A couple nights a week they have special activites at the disco that included dancing competitions and beer drinking contests between the entertainment staff and the resort guests. If you didn't think that mexicans could drink beer. You'll be left in awe.

We didn't really take any tourist type excurions as we were there more to relax than anything else. We did go to the Akumel beach one day. It's about a 6 min cab ride from the resort. From there you can lie on the beach, go snorkelling or even try out your luck fishing. Myself and 2 other guys that we met while on vacation tried out hand at fishing. We spend 3 hours on the water but came back with no fish. It wasn't for the lack of effort. We had 7 hits but never hooked any of the fish.

The other thing that we did was went and spent a night at Coco Bongos. If you've never been and have been thinking about it then I'd suggest you do it. It's like nothing you've never experianced before. They have stage shows, lots of confetti and things that will amaze you. We went with another couple that we met from Sweden and had a blast. We paid a little extra for bottle service and it was well worth it. We had our own table, got a bottle of what ever alchol you desired and all the mix on your table. This was on top of the already open bar. We paid a little over $100 a person but I'd do it again. Oh and if you do go there don't forget your camera.

There resort is about 1.5 hours from the airport. So if you're hungry when you land get some food before you're on the bus. Also don't be afraid to ask the staff for anything you need. They are more than helpful. And if you don't ask them or tell them of an issue they cannot solve it for you.

It was another great trip to the Grand Sirenis. And I know that we'll make it back down there again sometime as we really enjoyed the resort.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor have less traffic. You will tend to hear the golf carts going by on th...

My wife and I got married 5 years ago and were looking to do something fun for our 5th anniversary. We decided on a vacation and decided on this. Service, food, drinks, and everything in between was awesome. We loved the beach, we loved the pools, and we enjoyed each other. The rooms are nice, but worn, they could use some updating. Of course, all we did there was sleep, so it wasn't anything that was too bad. There were some younger kids (high school aged) that we could have done without, but overall it wasn't too bad. Most of the adults were on the beach and that made our decision easy. I would go back to the Riviera Maya, but we might try another resort for more flavor. We may even stay a little closer to Cancun.

Room Tip: You can get there early and try to upgrade. It wasn't the noise that kept us up, it was more the...
