Long ride from Cancun airport but worth it. We were glad we opted for a private transport. We stayed in Bldg 29 of the Coba section. Very centrally located. Room was probably the cleanest room we have ever stayed in - anywhere! Very helpful and friendly employees everywhere we went. Food wasn't over the top (except at Le Gourmet Restaurant which was A+) but was very good and well prepared. We walked almost everywhere in the Coba section, only taking a shuttle to the Tulum section or to the Casino. Never waited more than about 3 minutes for shuttle and mostly less than a minute. Would definitely go back here!

we traveled here in November for a wedding. The resort is beautiful however there are some areas that are off limits to most people you have to have some kind of membership. Our room was great we had a fantastic pool view. service was fantastic and the drinks were the best. The only issue I had was with it buffet that food was ok at best. There was not enough authentic Mexican food. I found the buffet was too Americanized for sure. When in Mexico I expect to eat Mexican food. other tat that everything was great . Hats off the Abener at the pool bar.
Tip: if you leave a tip in your fridge in your room the person stocking it will treat you very well with extra beer and snacks.

Stayed @ the Premiere Coba. Be aware that the buildings are 3 stories and no elevators. Make sure when you book to ask for 1st floor if you cannot do stairs.
This resort is very large but offers trams to take you everywhere. We would have breakfast and then head to Tulum Beach, followed by lunch at Tulum, return to our room and use the pool, rest until dinner, then join friends we met there for drinks and entertainment after dinner. Drinks were excellent as well as their specialty restaurants.
Loved the beach at Tulum and the Brazilian restaurant, Grand Tortuga at Tulum. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: We liked being closest to the hotel lobby to catch trams and eat breakfast.

We booked a five day stay at Grand Bahi Principe with our kids. The ride to the airport was about an hr and a half. The resort is huge so you have to take shuttle rides to get to and from the beach and some of the resturants. The staff are friendly but it was difficult to communicate as the majority have broken English. Our room was well kept but we didn't spend much time in it other then to sleep. Plenty of restaurant choices and non stop entertainment for everyone. We thought the rendition of Grease was great. The kids enjoyed playing at the beach and some excursions such as swimming with the Dolphins and a visit to the Mayan ruins, in Chichen Itza. It was a nice family trip but the heat was too hot. At times almost unbearable. I would definitely go back but I would choose a much cooler time of the year.

Having heard from many people about the all inclusive "experience", my wife and I decided to try it for what may be our last family vacation before our children all leave the nest and start lives of their own. We had heard good things about GBP Coba from friends of ours as a safe bet for a great holiday experience, and so we booked our trip through Westjet Vacations. We're not sure if we just got lucky on our resort selection or we now feel that we are kicking ourselves for not doing more of this and sooner! Upon arrival at Cancun airport we were greeted promptly by BD Travel reps (Westjet's Vacations partner company) and whisked away to the large coach for our transfer to the resort. I've read a few reviews complaining about the time and distance to the resort, but it flew by due to the great host from BD travel who made sure the cervezas were flowing and provided a very entertaining guided tour as well as some great tips on the do's and don'ts of a Mayan Riviera Vacation. Great job BD Travel! Upon arrival we checked into 3 adjacent rooms quickly and efficiently even getting a welcome drink at the front counter. The property is massive as many have mentioned but the efficient shuttle system means you can always get to where you need to go in a short amount of time. The shuttle drivers are always happy to assist if they see someone who looks lost or confused and we even had one driver make a special trip to take us to Tequila restaurant when we surely would have been late for our reservation without his help! We didn't mind the walk between rooms, pools, lobby, buffet, etc because of the beautiful landscaping and thoughtful layout and design of the resort...and we had to work off a bit of the food we were eating. When it comes to amenities, there are so many options. If it's a la carte you're after, there are seven I believe, the two we tried, Tequila and Gourmet both had fantastic food and service, as well as authentic atmosphere. The buffet was our choice most of the time because of the flexible schedule, easy access and mind boggling variety and quality of food. A drink is never far away and the servers and bartenders were top notch at the many bars, (I lost count). Whether it's a pool or beach vacation, you can have it both ways. A quick shuttle to Coba or GBP Tulum beach, both of which are clean, safe for swimming and gorgeous. Or pick your favorite pool...small intimate jet pools, large quiet tanning and dipping pool, a fantastic kids water park, or full on party/activity pool, all with full bar service and impeccably clean pool and restroom facilities. I must give a huge shoutout to the "Animation" entertainment team who kept everyone pumped up and having fun with their boundless energy from morning till night. They must be exhausted at the end of the day! To wrap it up, if you are looking for a resort that offers quality, class, service and an atmosphere that is sure to satisfy ALL ages, this resort is your easy button. You will leave feeling relaxed, pampered, and eager to return as soon as possible! I have already started researching other Bahia Príncipe properties, (they have 25) to decide which one to visit next. If they are all as well run as this one then I am sure that I won't be disappointed! Thanks!
