We went to La Cueva del Pescador for a drink and snack before dinner. We wandered around Akumal for a bit trying to find it and sat at an outdoor table.
The cocktails were standard (margarita, mojito, pina colada) and the fresh salsa was very spicy but both were very good. They typically don't serve ceviche at dinner (rookie mistake) but we were able to order the mixed with shrimp, octopus and fish which was fresh, flavorful and perfect for a hot evening.
The service was very slow and uninterested (coming from impatient New Yorkers) and we may have had a different experience with a full dinner service.
Overall the food and drinks are good and we would recommend the restaurant if you are in the Akumal area.
